Definitely not as good as the ring spotlight cam, floodlight cam or even the stick up cams. Has a horrible glare and doesnt capture enough area. However, once you are 3 feet in front of it and they push the button it gives you the option to use either your own voice to respond or pre-recorded digital responses, including a few fun themed ones. Am going to keep it, although I am also getting a spotlight cam or floodlight cam for the front area since this only shows about 6 feet out total, partly due to facing sideways with the tilt plate, mostly due to glare.

This doorbell is okay, and I love the app. Unfortunately it only really works during the daytime because the night vision reflects off the wall and washes out the camera view. It would be nice if we could turn off the light on the doorbell to remedy this issue. The setting that allows you to set custom areas for motion alerts also doesn’t work. It alerts me of motion outside the boundary, even after I lower the sensitivity. I wish there was also an option to continuously record video instead of just view snapshots.

Installed myself was easy to install and works great…a little delay in answering and notifications but it works well

This was my first Ring purchases, and I wasn't disappointed. The installation was very simple, thanks to the step-by-step guide on the Ring app. The install was done and I had it up and running within 30 minutes. I was so impressed with the doorbell camera that I went ahead and purchased a security camera for my back porch. Now I can monitor the front and back of my home via the Ring app. Great products overall, and very satisfied so far. The only thing is you will need to purchase a Ring subscription if you want to keep video history, as the Ring devices only come with a 30-day trial that allows you to view stored videos.

Excellent video, easy to make perimeter for motion detection and alerts. Was easy to install with directions. You can also google it for video install. Has speaker to interact with anyone at your door. Will work with your doorbell. Ring app user friendly. To keep video recording you may have to pay a subscription $30 per year is the lowest. they do offer higher for others if you have more cameras. Check on Ring.com I have Doorbell Pro and 3 floodlight cam wired plus.

This Ring video doorbell is much better than the one I purchased years ago. The videos are clear and the audio is better. I see people and get alerted before they approach the doorbell. It also can identify packages and I will get that alert also.

working great. More value for less money. Simple to install. Infact, there is nothing like installation. Just stick it to wall/door. No need to worry about wirings.

It does exactly as advertised. I have a clear view of my porch and the street in front of me. When alerts are turned on I'm told whenever a person gets near the porch. It's a nice security device.

We live in a new-build home that doesn't have great optics to the front. They also thought it wise to install a door with no peep hole. So this was the option we went with to actually know what is going on at our front door without having to open it. So far it has worked pretty well. The picture quality is decent. I thought that it claimed 1080p, but it certainly doesn't look very HD. A bit grainy, but good enough for the purpose it is serving. After messing with the settings for a couple days, I finally got it to stop alerting me with a motion notification every time a car drove past (you can customize zones that it will monitor and alert you with a motion text). And the other settings are customizable enough so that it's as non-intrusive as you need it to be. Installation was pretty simple. They give you 2 brackets (a corner bracket and a bracket that is sloped in case you need to mount it higher than usual). I do wish they gave you a regular flat bracket in case you have to mount it on an uneven surface like I had to. I applied a couple of washers I had laying around and that worked ok. This does require a subscription service if you are wanting cloud storage and some other features, but it isn't needed just for it to work and be a glorified peep hole. The subscription is pretty inexpensive at about $3 a month or $30 a year (going from memory so that may not be exact, only in the ballpark). You get a bit of a discount for doing the entire year up front.

Wired Ring Video Doorbell Pro-Fast delivery and easy to install and connection to my existing doorbell chime. I didn't have to buy extra parts. My doorbell is mounted on the side wall next to my door and I was concerned that the camera wouldn't capture a large enough area to show someone standing in front of the door. I am pleasantly surprised that the field of view is very large and editable. I can see who's in front of the door and even my sidewalk and a small portion of the street. The camera captures clear, well-lighted video, even at night on my unlighted porch. The ring app works best with a smart phone, only so-so with an Echo Show. Echo Dot does a good job with doorbell and motion announcements. A paid subscription is necessary after the free 30 day subscription expires if you want to see more than the live feed, which the biggest negative. I gave it 4 stars only because of the need for a paid subscription

This review is on the Video Doorbell Pro, the initial version, let's call it version 1. That is what I purchased and what many reading this review may have as well. My original review that follows pointed out one annoying negative and gave the product 3 stars. Apparently Ring monitors their reviews (since they are owned by Amazon) and as a result I was contacted by a Ring specialist, who was knowledgeable about their products and worked closely with me for a resolution. That experience was very positive. As a result, I have upped my review to 5 stars as the doorbell now meets all my needs and her willingness to work with me was exceptional. The product I am giving 5 stars to is the Video Doorbell Pro 2 which is different than the product I purchased which was the Video Doorbell Pro.

I purchased this Ring doorbell as a replacement for my original one, which was the victim of a lightning strike. It was fairly easy to install and has been working flawlessly for the last 2 months. Having this device allows me peace of mind with package deliveries and visitors to our home.

I'm really loving my Ring Video Doorbell! I never thought that I would need MORE home security but with crime increasing I need to see what's happening around my house. It's comforting, especially with the holidays coming, to see who's at my door. The app is wonderful too. It's easy to understand and navigate. If you decide to add to your collection of Ring products in the future, the devices will be added to your dashboard. I really like that feature. Installation was very simple. I literally had more trouble finding the power switch the doorbell was on than installing the entire Ring system! Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase!
