Posted .Hi KathleenM.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. The features and technology provided by the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not working as expected. Wired Doorbell Plus is Ring’s ultra-slim video doorbell with a variety of advanced features. The Wired Doorbell Plus offers "Advanced Motion Detection," 1080p video, "Two-Way Talk," "Quick Replies," "Color Night Vision," and "Alexa Greetings." With Ring’s advanced doorbell, you can check in on your front door anytime, from anywhere, and see and speak to visitors at your door in real-time using your Ring app or Alexa-enabled device.
We are happy to provide you with the instructions for installing the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus without an existing doorbell.
Please follow these steps:
1. Install the transformer. For your safety, only use an existing doorbell transformer within the range specified below or compatible Ring accessories to power your device. Since you’ll be working with high-voltage electricity, first turn off the main power switch on your fusebox or consumer unit.
Ring accessories are sold separately and may include:
Plug-In Adapter (24VDC, 500mA)
The Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is not compatible with third-party DC adapters, halogen transformers, or garden-lighting transformers. Using incompatible power sources can damage your device and cause electric shock.
If you need help with this process, you should consult a qualified electrician.
2. Connect the Pro Power Kit. The Pro Power Kit V2 is designed to bypass your existing doorbell. Even if you are not bypassing an existing doorbell, connecting the Pro Power Kit is a required step with AC transformers in order to protect your new doorbell and transformer.
3. Install your Video Doorbell Pro. Use the Phillips end for the mounting screws and the star-shaped end for the security screw. Use a 6mm drill bit with a power drill to drill holes for the (optional) anchors if installing on concrete, stucco, or brick. Use two mounting screws to mount your Ring Doorbell. Secure the faceplate with one of the security screws.
4. Restore power at the breaker. You’re almost there! After turning the power back on, it’s time to set up your doorbell in the Ring app.
5. Finish setting up your Video Doorbell Pro by following the steps in the Ring app. The Ring app connects your Ring Doorbell to your mobile device running iOS or Android, making sure you’re always home. Open the Ring app and tap Set Up Device to begin the setup process. Select Ring Video Doorbell Pro from the list and follow the in-app instructions.
We invite you to reach out to our community if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We understand the importance of a seamless setup and installation process, as this allows you to start using your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus right away. What you describe is not the experience we want you to have. Rest assured, we hear you and are here to offer you some help.
It sounds like you are having some trouble with your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus performing as intended. If your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is offline, you'll see a red no wifi icon displayed over your Ring device in the Ring app. Tap this icon to pull up an error screen to help troubleshoot your issue.
If you have a poor internet connection, your Ring device is likely too far from your wifi router, or your wifi router is obstructed by walls or furniture. If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection issues. We recommend checking your Ring device's signal strength following this steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select the Ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the Device Health tile.
Scroll to Signal Strength under the Network section.
The green, amber, red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good, red is poor.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. At Ring, we want to ensure that you have the best possible experience with our products. Your peace of mind and security are extremely important to us.The features and technology provided by the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security.
Rest assured, we're here to help!
It sounds like the device was not performing as expected. Ring devices require high-speed internet to bring you crisp, clear video and audio. Poor network connectivity can affect the performance of your Ring device. We are happy to share some troubleshooting steps to help you diagnose and fix common video issues that you may experience with Ring doorbells and cameras.
Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance. In addition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable.
Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI. Turn off your mobile device's cellular data and connect to the same wifi network as your Ring device. Open the Ring app. Tap the menu (☰). Tap “Devices.” Select your device. Trigger an event on your Ring device. This could mean pressing the button on a doorbell or activating the motion sensors on a camera. Answer the event and examine the resulting video.
We have listed some possible outcomes from this test here:
1. The footage is crisp and clear.
If your video appears good when next to the router, the issue may be caused by a disruption in between your router and your Ring device’s normal location. To fix this, try moving your device closer to the router or extending your wifi signal with a wifi extender like the Ring Chime Pro.
2. The footage is heavily pixelated.
If you’re seeing heavy pixilation, even next to the router, this may be due to slow wifi speeds.
3. There are severe pauses in live video.
If your video pauses, stutters, or gets frozen and your wifi speed meets the minimum standards, try rebooting your router. Unplug your router, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. It should take three to four minutes to reboot. Then, test your Ring device again and see if there's any difference.
4. There is a long delay before your video starts.
This is also caused by slow wifi speeds. Assuming you have high-speed internet, reboot your router and the mobile phone, tablet, or PC you're accessing the video feed on. Test an event when it's back online to see if there's any difference.
While there are no video settings that allow you to change exposure to sunlight, there are other ways you can fix overexposed, washed-out videos. Using a wedge kit or corner kit can change the angle of the doorbell. There are many different corner kits and wedge kits, so make sure you get one that is compatible with your particular model of doorbell.

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue while attempting to set up the device. If you're having a problem setting up your device in the Ring app, it's possible you are experiencing a problem with your internet connection.
We have listed some issues that you may experience here:
Your internet is not communicating with the Ring app at all.
Your internet connection is too slow to provide a decent signal to your Ring device.
If your internet seems to be working, you may have a problem with your internet speed. Follow these instructions to run a speed test on your wifi network:
* Turn off the cellular data on your mobile device in settings.
* Make sure you are connected to your wifi network.
* Open up a web browser and go to bandwidthplace.com.
* Take your mobile device into the same room as your router.
* Press the Start button and measure your internet speed near your router.
* Take your mobile device to the place where you're installing your Ring device.
* Press the Start button and measure your internet speed again.
We recommend the following solutions to this problem:
Install a wifi extender such as our Ring Chime Pro.
Contact your ISP about increasing your speeds.

Posted .Hello RonL,
We appreciate you reaching out to us by leaving a review. We fully understand the importance of having the motion detection work as intended. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
Based on your review it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Video Doorbell Wired picking up correct motion. The Ring Doorbell sees the world is through a network of PIR or "Passive Infrared" motion sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. Since people are hotter than the surrounding areas, as a person enters the detection area the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert. If this is the case, we recommend you to adjust your current set motion zones. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By selecting Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can effectively monitor the area you want as well as reduce the number of “false positive” motion alert. At Ring, we understand it is essential to have your Ring Video Doorbell Pro working properly so you can keep your home secure. It is critical for a home security device to stay online to be ready to protect you. We would love the opportunity to work with you, and we are eager to provide you with a solution for the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell Pro may be losing connectivity. This could be due to a number of factors, including insufficient power.
Video Doorbell Pro requires a minimum of 16 volts of AC to power the device. If your Video Doorbell Pro is not receiving enough power, you may see issues like this:
Regularly losing connection to your wifi network
Regularly shutting off (the white light on the front will turn off).
Freezing up during a live event.
Not ringing your existing internal doorbell correctly.
Night vision doesn't work.
The device works fine for a couple of events and then stops working.
Check your Transformer Voltage.
Open the Ring app.
Tap the top menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select Video Doorbell Pro.
Tap the Device Health tile.
Under Power, you should see the Transformer Voltage status. Tap that section to reveal the voltage.
For Video Doorbell Pro to operate, the voltage needs to be listed as "Good". If you are continuing to have issues, it may be the electrical wiring at your location. Older wires from your wall can deteriorate over time and may need to be replaced.

It is critical for a home security device to have enough power to keep your device online and ready to protect you. It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell Pro may not be installed correctly. The Ring Video Doorbell Pro must be hardwired. It requires a compatible doorbell and a transformer that has an output of at least 16V 30VA (40VA max) and 50/60 Hz. It sounds like your device is not setting up as intended. The Ring Video Doorbell Pro requires a hardwired connection to a transformer (16–24 VAC, 50–60 HZ). Once it's installed and you press the setup button, your Ring Video Doorbell Pro will light up on the front.
There are two possible reasons why your light isn't lighting up:
You're keeping the right button pressed for too long. Ensure that you are pressing the button firmly and releasing it immediately without holding it down.
Your Video Doorbell Pro isn't receiving power.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
We know how essential it is for the two-way audio to work properly on your Ring Video Doorbell Pro, so you can speak with and hear whoever is at your door. The two-way audio is an invaluable feature of the Ring Video Doorbell Pro. We want to work with you to make sure we get this feature working as it is intended. We are confident we can resolve this together today.
It sounds like you are having trouble hearing people who are at your door. If you’ve been having audio and sound issues with your Ring app or a Ring device, when you’re trying to use Live View, the following troubleshooting steps should help you get your device and app back to normal.
Check your mobile device to make sure that the external volume control is turned up to an adequate level to hear the person. In addition to the external volume control, there are audio/sound controls in your device settings. If you don’t know how to check your device settings, search online for "audio controls" and the name or model of your device.
If you have a Ring Protect Plan, check to see whether or not you can hear sound on a stored recording. If you do not hear sound on the stored recording, check the external volume controls and audio controls in your device settings.
If you are on a phone call, which may interfere with the sound on some mobile devices, end the call and try Live View again.
Visit our support center if additional troubleshooting steps are needed.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us!
We understand how critical it is to be able to monitor the comings and goings of your home while the Ring Video Doorbell Pro stays connected to your home’s wifi network properly. Ensuring there is a solid network connection so you do not miss a notification is our top priority. We would like to provide you with solutions to the connectivity concerns you are experiencing today!
It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell Pro does not have a strong wifi signal. Wifi can travel quite far, but it has limits. Even with the best wifi router and minimal obstructions, wifi signals get weaker as they travel. Here are a few suggestions on things you can try to improve the signal to your device:
If your wifi router has an adjustable antenna, try pointing it in various directions and testing the signal strength.
Consider upgrading your router, especially if it's more than a few years old.
Trace the path from your router to your Ring device. If there are any metal items (such as a TV) or aquariums directly between them, try moving them out of the way so the signal isn't blocked.
Get a wifi extender.
Most routers are automatically set to switch channels to the least-crowded option. If your router doesn't have this enabled, log in and turn it on. Check your router’s documentation if you are unsure how to do this.
If you think you may be getting interference from other electronics, try unplugging them or connecting them directly using Ethernet, which should free up bandwidth on your wifi.
If your router is far from your Ring products, consider moving it closer, adding a Ring Chime Pro, or upgrading to a mesh network system to extend your wifi network's coverage.
