The video is crisp and the ability to refine the actual areas to be monitored works very, very well. I could not be more pleased with my purchase and since it was a wired device and I’m handicapped, I took advantage of our Geek Squad Membership and had Best Buy service technicians install it for me. Best Buy is my go-to store for electronics and peripherals.

Great security with the ring

The first one was struck by lightning. I didn’t realize how much I relied on it until it was gone. It is a great system and was very easy for my son in law to install. I feel so safe with my phone giving me notice anytime someone is around my front door. My husband sits on the enclosed porch most of the day. We installed another ring out there so we can watch him on the phone because he is a little feeble.

It has a great video quality and notifications are prompt. It lets you edit the area where you want motion sensor to be active. Two way talk is also very useful especially when you are not home, you can still answer the door..very convenient feature. The only con I would like to mention is that there is a lag sometimes for a minute or so which can be annoying sometimes. But overall it's well worth the price and a great security device.

Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.
It sounds like you experienced some connection issues with the device. Usually, connection delay is related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In edition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.
We also recommend adding a Ring Chime Pro to your network. The Ring Chime Pro simply plugs into a wall outlet between your router and the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus to assist with the wifi signal strength to the device.

After a few modifications to doorbell wires . Everything went smoothly. And getting the ring camera to work on my wifi was very easy.

It was easy to install and get operational. It took some time to reduce “false positives” because it detected people walking by at a distance, but it gives you some ability to reduce its sensitivity and its “zone of detection.” Most important: you can see who’s at your door and speak to them if you wish. Very helpful with package delivery.
