I got the ring for a couple of reasons but mostly because you can set it where it doesn’t go off because of a flag moving. I have really liked it. Also the battery on the security camera had to be charged every week. The ring is so much better, I haven’t had to worry about the battery.

Ring Door Bell Pro 2

We had it and several other Ring cameras, lights, bulbs, garage, etc. installed since I have the Best Buy Total Protection or whatever they call it these days. Wished the bulb we got from Ring that is right above Ring Door Bell would be smart enough to detect movement and turn out but I guess it doesn't.

It works well for that purpose. My only objection is that we purchased a wired Ring bell under the belief that it would use the wiring from the house to ring the in-house chime. Not so! In order to hear the doorbell in the rest of the house, we needed to buy a plug-in chime and install it somewhere else in the house. In my opinion, this should be an unneeded expense. Ring could certainly improve on that score. Otherwise, we do enjoy having the video, knowing who is at the door, being able to re-wind and see previous alerts, the ability to change the alert chimes, etc.

The features and technology provided by the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We would like to provide you with solutions to the concerns you are experiencing today!
To enable your in-home chime, please follow these steps in the Ring app:
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.
Tap your device's Settings.
Tap the Device Settings tile.
Tap In-home Chime Settings.
Select your Chime Type (Mechanical, Digital, or None)
Tap the toggle to turn on or turn off your in-home doorbell chime.
Tap Save in the upper right to save your changes.
If the app is unable to detect an in-home chime, follow the steps below to manually configure.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Select your Chime Type (Mechanical, Digital Type 1, or Digital Type 2).
Tap Continue.
Tap Ring my in-home chime.
Follow the prompts in the app to complete the test.
Using incompatible power sources can damage your device and cause electric shock. To identify which type or doorbell chime you have, listen to the sound it makes.
A mechanical chime uses a physical bell and a mechanical hammer and makes a traditional ding-dong sound. A digital chime plays pre-recorded digital tones through an electronic speaker and often has a selection of different tones you can choose from. If you're unsure what type of doorbell chime you have, remove the front of your chime box and look inside for a bell and hammer or an electronic speaker.

Worth the purchase for security reasons.

App is simple enough that I even got the MIL amd FIL to get one. Only troublespots are by now it should be manufactured to have a rotatable lens and the wifi reception is poor. Its no more than yards from my route and has a poor signal. Going to have to run and ethernet line to the opposite side of the house and plug up a signal booster. Crazy thing is I have an Ring outdoor camera about the same distance with no signal degradation. The motion settings are too sensitive too on the lowest setting. At its lowest setting im getting cars passing by the front of the house about 25-30 yards away

Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the connection issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not operating as intended. Ring devices require high-speed internet to bring you crisp, clear video and audio. Poor network connectivity can affect the performance of your Ring device. Identify and troubleshoot what is causing connectivity issues for Ring devices to give you the best possible video and audio experience.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance. In addition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
Also, accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling Smart Alerts for people only in your Ring app.
To enable Smart Alerts:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Smart Alerts.
Tap Enable Feature.
Tap Continue.
Select the notification options that you want for Person and Other Motion.
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings tap Done.

You can see much more, down my front sidewalk, a whole-person view. My lawn service was working in the front and back, I could see both on the aerial view. This new Ring Doorbell is impressive!
