It took a while for me to install and get to actually work. Replaced with exiting hard wired doorbell had from over 29 years. Figured out had to replace to doorbell transformer to larger voltage output. Took couple weeks to resolve all.

I had this unit installed on my front door and we have been pleased with it so far. Excellent view. But leave the lights on at night! Night vision not so good.

I give it 5 stars because it has been doing the job that I wanted with no headaches. I am not sure what other feature the next update will have but I am satisfied with the feature it has.

Needs low voltage 16 - 24 AC volts from old doorbell system. You get 30 days of free video service and the after you can pay for your choice of options. My wife and I both can access the video footage or live view at any time or anywhere. Using the app to configure many different options that are easily explained. **Very important that the "Pro Power Kit" be installed BEFORE Ring Doorbell as stated in Setup Guide before installing Ring Doorbell.**

This is so mich better. The picture quality is fantastic and the notifications actually work. Now when I get a recent notification on my iPhone, I could see exactly who was walking up to my door whereas before I would get a notification of the persons back or just basically after they left I really like this doorbell and I would definitely recommend it.

The features and technology provided by the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
We are happy to provide you with the instructions for installing the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro. Ring your existing doorbell and listen for the chime. If it rings, you know your existing doorbell system is working. If you don't have an existing doorbell, you can power your Wired Doorbell Pro directly using our Ring Plug-in Adapter. In the product packaging, there are long mounting screws and security screws. The mounting screws are used to affix the mounting bracket to your door or wall.
Once the device is installed, use the star-shaped end of the screwdriver bit to tighten the security screws into the bottom of the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro faceplate to help deter theft. For connecting to an existing doorbell system, be sure to use a hardwired transformer (8 to 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 5 VA to 40 VA).
