The Ring Home Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
With a Ring Home Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account. Without a Ring Home Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.

But to get it from Best Buy, and with Total Tech, it is just that much better. They have a price match guarrantee and the Geek Team does the install. Nice work.

However the thing I hate about it is that sometimes it doesn’t record. So it only records when someone rings the doorbell or when motion is detected. And there will be a break in between the recording during that motion. For the most part it’s been good for me, I had an incident where i parked my car on the street. And my ring doorbell is facing it. And one night a car did a hit and run in my car, and for some reason it didn’t record that/or pick up that lotion even though my car was right in front of my ring. Other than that, Quality is good, very clear. Also with the ring doorbell you need wifi, and need to pay for a membership to be able to save and watch each recording. Membership isn’t expensive.

Ring Wired Doorbell Pro was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to person detection. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."

Worked well for over a Year...then died.

Is located so it catches afternoon sun here in the desert. Maybe that is why it no longer works? Warranty expired. Ring did offer me a 35% discount for new one. May look at others that have no subscription fees before replacing.

Ring devices may have their performance affected by extreme weather and other conditions. We've listed a few suggestions on what to do if your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro runs out of power or shuts down. While Ring devices are engineered to work in a variety of weather conditions, extreme heat conditions and exposure to direct sunlight can cause overheating and damage the internal components of your Ring device. Your devices are programmed to shut down and not ring before the heat tolerance of the device is exceeded. Note that this behavior is expected and the device should reactivate when the temperature goes down.
We have listed some potential results of high temperatures here:
120°F (50°C): When the environment reaches this temperature, the device will shut down immediately to avoid damaging the internal components.
113°F (45°C): While your Ring device may operate at this temperature, prolonged exposure to this level of heat may also cause the device to shut down.
We have listed what to do when it gets too hot here:
Bring your device inside. When it gets hot, bring the entire device inside, take out the batteries and allow both the batteries and the unit to cool to room temperature. Do not charge the batteries until they have cooled to room temperature.
Look for shade. Remember that direct sunlight may heat up your Ring device to hotter than the ambient temperature and trigger a shutdown. If possible, install your device in an area that gets shade at least a few hours a day.
Keep an eye on the daily weather. While your Ring device will operate at 105°F, a couple of days at this temperature may trigger a potential shutdown.

Sometimes load up of video is delayed, either being on the same Wifi or being away from the home. The embedded chime is too low to hear. It seems its designed this way in order to have to purchase the add-on chime.

The clarity, ease of installation and the new settings matched with the reviews. The difference in quality is worth the difference in price

I give it 5 stars because it has been doing the job that I wanted with no headaches. I am not sure what other feature the next update will have but I am satisfied with the feature it has.

I had this unit installed on my front door and we have been pleased with it so far. Excellent view. But leave the lights on at night! Night vision not so good.
