In pursuit of our mission to make neighborhoods safer, when applying technologies to our business, we always consider our three pillars of customer security, privacy, and user control.

It sounds like you have concerns with Community Requests. Community Requests is a privacy-protected service that enables public safety agencies to put out public requests for help and efficiently and securely collect and manage digital evidence. Public safety agencies can post a request in the Neighbors feed asking community members within a specific area to share Ring video footage or information that may help their investigation. Videos customers choose to share in response to Community Requests go directly to Axon Evidence, a secure evidence management system where they can be verified for authenticity and integrity. This also creates a complete audit trail of how and when public safety agencies collect information. Participation is always voluntary, and public safety agencies can only see what you choose to share. Your Ring camera footage is not automatically shared with law enforcement. If you have set your Ring location within the geofence of the Community Request, then you will see a post in your Neighbors feed, which you can choose to respond to if you have relevant videos to share. Only videos that you explicitly select to share are sent to the requesting agency. Users can disable Community Requests in their app settings. Within your Neighbors Feed settings. Navigate to the Neighbors Feed → Feed Settings → Opt out of the Community Requests Post Category.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. Ring devices have a one-year limited warranty. We will cover your eligible device against defects in materials and workmanship under ordinary consumer use. In other words, if your device malfunctions during normal operation within its first year, then Ring will fix or replace your device as needed. Please refer to the Ring’s Limited Warranty for more details. We are saddened to read that this device did not meet your expectations but are still here to assist you. Ring understands how important it is to have access to your videos, we want to ensure that we can answer any questions you may have concerning how the Ring Protect Plans work and how to save and share videos when necessary.

Out of the box, your Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is designed to keep you connected to your home in real time, no matter where you are. When you add an optional Ring Protect Plan, for as little as $3/month per device, videos of each ring, motion, and live view event are stored in the cloud, allowing you to review, share, and save them at your leisure.

One of the most important measurements in your Ring security network is the strength of your wifi signal. You may run a special connectivity test at any time to see if a bad wifi connection is responsible for problems with your device. We have included step by step instructions below:

-Open Ring app
-Hamburger Menu/ 3 Lines
-Select Devices
-Select a Ring device
-Select Device Health
-Select "Test your Wifi" under the Tools Section
-Tap "Start test
-Once the test is done, Enter your Results from the Speed test

Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection is not as strong at the location of the Ring device. We would love to connect with you and get to the bottom of this so your Video Doorbell Pro 2 ​can be something you rely on.

We are here today to provide you with a resolution for your concern.

It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. Power issues can cause problems with device performance. We have included a list here of symptoms of insufficient power:
Regularly losing connection to your wifi network.
Freezing up or shutting down during the ringtone sound after a button press.
Regularly shutting off (the white light on the front will turn off).
Freezing up during a live event.
Not correctly ringing your existing internal doorbell.
Night vision doesn't work.
Doorbell works fine for a couple of events and then stops working.
If your Wired Doorbell Pro is hooked up to an internal doorbell chime, check if your Pro Power Kit is properly installed.

It is critical for a home security device to have enough power to keep your device online and ready to protect you. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with information to help find a resolution as quickly as possible.

It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is not receiving enough power. The Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 requires a compatible doorbell, a Ring plug-in adapter or transformer (not included), and the following voltages: 16–24 VAC or 24 VAC/24VDC, 10–40 VA max, and 50–60 Hz. No halogen or garden-lighting transformers.

In order to have the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 trigger your internal chime kit, it must be receiving enough power and your internal chime kit must be compatible. The Ring Video Doorbell Pro is compatible with operating voltages ranging from 16 to 24 volts. In addition, both the Ring Chime and Ring Chime Pro are compatible with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2.

Visit our support center for a list of mechanical and electronic doorbell chimes we have tested and confirmed are compatible with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2.
