The Doorbell Pro 2 requires an existing doorbell circuit, and is compatible with standard doorbell transformers that output 16-24 VAC, 10-40VA max, 50/60Hz. By drawing your Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can more effectively monitor the area you want, as well as reduce the number of “false positive” motion alerts (such as cars driving by). Being able to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device is a valuable feature of the Ring Protect Plan. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like there was some confusion regarding the optional Ring Protect Plans. The Ring Protect Plan is a subscription that gives you access to paid features for your Ring device. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account.
Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events. Ring Wired Doorbell Pro is a wired video doorbell that offers enhanced head-to-toe HD+ video and other features such as Alexa Greetings (for Ring Protect subscribers), 3D Motion Detection, Audio+, and Bird's Eye View. Ring’s premium Wired Doorbell Pro allows you to check in on your front door anytime, from anywhere, and see or speak to visitors at your door in real-time using the Ring app or Alexa-enabled device.

It is imperative that a home security device provide you the peace of mind that you purchased the Ring Pro 2 for. It’s important to be able to see and speak with visitors anytime they approach your front entryway. Rest assured, we are here to provide you some solutions to your concern.
When you mention the “chime connector didn’t work”, are you referring to the Pro Power Kit that was included within your installation materials? Your Ring Video Doorbell Pro requires the Pro Power Kit to function, so be sure to install the Pro Power Kit before installing your Ring Doorbell. If you’ve installed this piece correctly, and you have verified that a 16-24VAC, 50/60HZ transformer is installed, it is possible that the Ring Pro 2 device temperature can fluctuate because of outside temperatures being hotter or colder, or the device being positioned directly in the sun.

Picture Quality is not the same

I previously owned a 1st gen Ring Pro that gotten worn out over time and thought I was getting a even better one with the Pro 2 .I wasn't really impressed with the new features but I was highly disappointed with the picture quality of the live view and the playback. It was very grainy and could barley makeout faces...I returned it and purchased another Ring Pro 1st gen and it works fine just like the one I had b4 .

It sounds like your device is not detecting motion as expected. The Ring Wired Doorbell Pro is Ring’s battery video doorbell with features including color Pre-Roll technology, 1080p HD video, two-way talk, "Advance Motion Detection," enhanced dual-band wifi and "Quick Replies." With color "Pre-Roll," users can see even more of what’s happening outside their front door. With an additional 4-second color video preview of each motion event, the doorbell will automatically start recording before users even receive an alert.
This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.

Annoying

Doesn’t work!

It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is failing to connect to your home's wifi. If you're running into issues setting up your Ring video doorbell or security camera—such as not being able to connect to the temporary Ring network or not connecting to your home wifi network—we have some troubleshooting steps you can try.
Make sure you have the correct password and are entering it exactly. Passwords are case-sensitive and do not include spaces. If you don't already know your network password, you can usually find it on the bottom of your router.
Since your router and modem are usually the hardest-working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month.
If you’ve tried everything else and are still having issues, you can try performing a reset or restore on your Ring device by holding down the reset button on the device for 20 seconds and then releasing it.
If none of these work, visit our support center for additional steps you can try.

Posted .Hi Sean. It's is definitely important to maintain ownership over your Ring device. When setting up a device, be sure that the email logging into the Ring app is the email that you would like as the owner of the Ring device. This Help Center article here has more information about Ring device ownership: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038010351-I-Would-Like-to-Take-Over-Change-Ownership-of-Ring-Devices. If you have any further questions or concerns, try browsing the Ring Community at https://community.ring.com/.
