Hi neighbor. This is correct. The Live View for your Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 has a Live View timeout of 10 minutes. By tapping reconnect after the timeout, you can Live View for another 10 minutes, If you have any further questions or concerns, try browsing the Ring Community at https://community.ring.com/. It sounds like the original device that you received was not operating as intended. We are happy to hear that you have received a replacement and it is working well for you. Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is a wired video doorbell that offers enhanced Head-to-Toe HD+ Video and other features such as Alexa Greetings (for Ring Protect subscribers), 3D Motion Detection, Audio+, and Bird's Eye View. Ring’s premium Video Doorbell Pro 2 allows you to check in on your front door anytime, from anywhere, and see or speak to visitors at your door in real-time using the Ring app or Alexa-enabled device.Video Doorbell Pro 2 always keeps you connected to your home, so you can watch over your property and answer the door from anywhere.

When you purchase a new or Certified Refurbished Device (which, for clarity, excludes Devices sold as “Used” & Used Devices sold as Warehouse Deals), we warrant the Device against defects in materials and workmanship under ordinary consumer use for one year from the date of original retail purchase. During this warranty period, if a defect arises in the Device, and you follow the instructions for returning the Device, we will at our option, to the extent permitted by law, either (i) repair the Device using either new or refurbished parts, (ii) replace the Device with a new or refurbished Device that is equivalent to the Device to be replaced, or (iii) refund to you all or part of the purchase price of the Device. This limited warranty applies, to the extent permitted by law, to any repair, replacement part or replacement device for the remainder of the original warranty period or for ninety days, whichever period is longer. All replaced parts and Devices for which a refund is given shall become our property. This limited warranty applies only to hardware components of the Device that are not subject to (a) accident, misuse, neglect, fire, alteration, or (b) damage from any third-party repair, third-party parts, or other external causes.

Every effort is made to ensure a potential customer understands the power requirements needed for this particular Ring doorbell. Although you may no longer have your device, our team is here to help where we can.

It's possible your doorbell was falling offline due to insufficient power. Did you test the wires at the door for consistency?

As a reference, Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 can be powered by an existing doorbell system or transformer rated at 16-24 VAC/24VDC, 10-40VA max.

For those who cannot meet these transformer standards, we sell a Plug-in Adapter accessory that is capable of powering your device correctly. You can learn more about it below:

It sounds like your device is not maintaining a connection to your wifi due to low power. The Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is compatible with doorbell systems supplying 16–24 volts AC at 50 or 60 Hz, 40 VA max. If your existing doorbell system does not provide enough power, a Ring plug-in adapter (not included) can be used to power the device directly. Installation by a qualified electrician may be required in your area. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work; permits and professional installation may be required by law.

The Doorbell Pro 2 requires an existing doorbell circuit, and is compatible with standard doorbell transformers that output 16-24 VAC, 10-40VA max, 50/60Hz. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By drawing your Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can more effectively monitor the area you want, as well as reduce the number of “false positive” motion alerts (such as cars driving by). It’s important to be able to see and speak with visitors anytime they approach your front entryway. Rest assured, we are here to provide you some solutions to your concern.

When you mention the “chime connector didn’t work”, are you referring to the Pro Power Kit that was included within your installation materials? Your Ring Video Doorbell Pro requires the Pro Power Kit to function, so be sure to install the Pro Power Kit before installing your Ring Doorbell. If you’ve installed this piece correctly, and you have verified that a 16-24VAC, 50/60HZ transformer is installed, it is possible that the Ring Pro 2 device temperature can fluctuate because of outside temperatures being hotter or colder, or the device being positioned directly in the sun.
