    Installation of the Ring system was the worst experience possible. I would never like to deal CRST Home Solutions again. it took at least 13 phone calls of 30 to 45 minutes each, 5 to 6 scheduled appointments, plus multiple trips to the Westbury Best Buy store to finally get the installation correct. Over the course of more than 1 month, at least 30 hours of my wife and my time were wasted.

    Phantom Rings

    I’ve had ghost rings since it was installed by Best Buy on 1/2/24. So freaking annoying because it sends my dogs into a barking frenzy multiple times a day for no reason. Best Buy sent a technician to ensure it was properly installed and Ring told me it was my house and to call an electrician. They also told me to “just disable the in-home” chime. I genuinely thought it was just me until I came across threads upon threads of customers complaining about these phantom rings. Some people report they notice it more at night and during the colder months. But I live in NC and the weather is pretty mild. I haven’t noticed any rhyme or reason—day or night, rain or shine, hot or cold, 3am or 3pm, the phantom rings occur. My regular, old doorbell NEVER used to ring for no reason. I have the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro installed and NOW the wiring in my house is faulty? Give me a break. Customers have been reporting these phantom rings for 4+ years. Clearly, this is a Ring problem they’re choosing to ignore.

      It sounds like your internal chime is going off when nobody is ringing your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro. This type of behavior can occur if there is insufficient power or if your Ring Pro Power Kit is installed improperly. The Ring Wired Doorbell Pro requires a doorbell transformer rated at 16–24 VAC, 50/60 HZ, and 30–40 VA max. Your Wired Doorbell Pro requires the Pro Power Kit to function properly. Visit our support center for information on how to check that the Ring Pro Power Kit is properly installed. In addition, you will want to check that all of the wiring in your circuit has a solid connection. It is possible that a wire has come loose or that your transformer is no longer providing enough power. If any additional information is needed to resolve your concern, please reach out to our support team.

    Beware of what you are told during online purchase

    I saved the chat wherein the BB person lied to me repeatedly about what would be included in today's installation. My first question before ordering with installation: "You: does the ring doorbell installation include a transformer upgrade if my existing doorbell transformer isn't powerful enough. Note that i already have an existing ring doorbell. It just doesn't work reliably I'm guessing due to an underpowered transformer on the old doorbell. I could install the doorbell myself but am too old to do a transformer upgrade, which would involve getting up in the attic." Customer Care agent: "Not to worry! or geek squad team will come to your door and install it. Yes, everything will be taken care." In case they didn't send a new ring.com power supply, I ordered one from ring.com and handed it to the installer upon arrival, who refused to install the new power supply, but only installed the doorbell, which I could easily have installed myself in minutes. (This was my third ring.com doorbell.) Now, as I expected, the ring.com app says under health that the power supply is underpowered and needs to be upgraded. Today: Customer Care agent: I understand your concern, and it’s important to ensure you get what you paid for. Typically, when you pay for a Geek Squad installation, it should cover all necessary components of the installation, including any essential upgrades like the power supply. They advised me to call Geek Squad. On the phone, I told them my concern and they refused to refund the full installation fee even when I said I would cancel my total membership (which I just did) and they would lose me as a customer (I spent > $5000 at BB in past two years) and would also post a negative review. Didn't matter. So be it.

    Absolutely will not work when you need it to. Once a week it has to be unwired due to it being offline. Hook it back up and it only works for around a week. Repeat over and over.

      Hi KevinS, I understand it can be frustrating to deal with connectivity issues on your Doorbell Pro 2. Since your Doorbell is disconnecting from the wifi frequently, it may not have a strong or stable wifi signal. Try checking the RSSI on the Device Health page. We have more information on that here bit.ly/3MtmQgF. If the RSSI is high, improving the signal should prevent frequent wifi disconnections.
