I have a wired Ringcam from a few years ago that was damaged by a careless worker. This unit has no tangible improvements that matter. It records fewer cars, even though i liked Ring recording cars in my quiet street, and its befuddled by sprinkler, which the old doorbell ignored. The old doorbell had power and battery, while this is smaller - but only powered. Finally, the view is too wide so lots of video is wasted recording brick walls and bushes. This works just fine and looks bettee, but if size doesnt matter save the money and go one gen back.

It sounds like your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro is not performing as expected. We would love the opportunity to share with you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to get your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro functioning as intended. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Motion Zones can help you better detect motion in the areas that matter the most to you and reduce the number of unwanted motion alerts. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."

Hardwired to our existing doorbell and chime so we never have to change any batteries. Looks much sleeker and prettier as well. After purchase we received a free 2nd case/cover for it and chose the black one. Looks amazing.

Been n service a couple days. Great video in the day and adequate for our needs at night. Like getting notified when packages are delivered. Great view top to bottom to identify people and packages.
