Great camera if doorbell transformer is adequate

The issue we have is the doorbell transformer and an older house was not adequate. However, we were unable to find the transformer in our house to install a replacement. Due to this we had to return the doorbell camera.

I was only disappointed that you would have to buy a monthly or yearly plan to keep the histroy of the video

Swapping them out was simple enough. Cut the power, unscrew the old one. Attach the power pack to the transformer, install the new door bell, put the power back on. Configure with Ring app Works great.

Works well to answer when not home. Not necessarily the best for an older home like mine. My wiring for it doesn't provide enough power for it to upgrade if needed.

Easy to install, easy to use. The only bad might be the connection issues when you arlway from home, but that has more to do with our phone data coverage. Connection works great at home.

I researched in advance and had to upgrade my transformer which created a concern as the upgraded transformer still shows a low power concern. I also had to cover an old 3" round hole from existing doorbell, so had to purchase the old base from Ring and attach the new base to it to cover the hole. My response time on answering rings or initiating the video is great in my new home with 1GB upload/download fiber optic WiFi speeds and a mesh network. My response time at my other home using an older Ring doorbell is poor so I was a little concerned but am pleased with the new doorbells performance.

The field of view for the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro is 150 degrees horizontal by 150 degrees vertical. We recommend using a Ring Wedge Kit or Corner Kit to assist with adjusting for view as needed. A Ring Corner Kit is included in the package with the device.
