Bait and switch and stop working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You have subscribe to a service to keep recording videos which defeats the purpose of the thing. After two weeks it disconnected from WiFi. Nothing else in the house has issues staying connected. You have to manually reset so it again defeats the purpose. Videos are good when it works.

Posted .Hello Indy701,
Ring understands how important it is to have access to your videos, we want to ensure that we can answer any questions you may have concerning how the Ring Protect Plans work and how to save and share videos when necessary.
Out of the box, your Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is designed to keep you connected to your home in real time, no matter where you are. When you add an optional Ring Protect Plan, for as little as $3/month per device, videos of each ring, motion, and live view event are stored in the cloud, allowing you to review, share, and save them at your leisure.
One of the most important measurements in your Ring security network is the strength of your wifi signal. You may run a special connectivity test at any time to see if a bad wifi connection is responsible for problems with your device. We have included step by step instructions below:
-Open Ring app
-Hamburger Menu/ 3 Lines
-Select Devices
-Select a Ring device
-Select Device Health
-Select "Test your Wifi" under the Tools Section
-Tap "Start test
-Once the test is done, Enter your Results from the Speed test
Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection is not as strong at the location of the Ring device. We would love to connect with you and get to the bottom of this so your Video Doorbell Pro 2 can be something you rely on.

Regretful purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had I known I would have to upgrade my transformer because it needs more power, I would not have bought it. Would have to hire a electrician to locate the transormer in attic (ugh!) ... and install stronger one. Only rings at the device and not at my chime inside my house. Had to buy a Ring chime extender and it intermittently fails to ring due to transformer power being to low. Wished i kept my Doorbell 2.

Posted .Hi Royo.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
We understand how critical it is for your hard-wiring to function as intended in order to supply power to your Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 so that you can keep a watchful eye on your property. It is critical for a home security device to have enough power to keep your device online and ready to protect you. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with information to help find a resolution as quickly as possible.
It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is not receiving enough power. The Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 requires a compatible doorbell, a Ring plug-in adapter or transformer (not included), and the following voltages: 16–24 VAC or 24 VAC/24VDC, 10–40 VA max, and 50–60 Hz. No halogen or garden-lighting transformers.
In order to have the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 trigger your internal chime kit, it must be receiving enough power and your internal chime kit must be compatible. The Ring Video Doorbell Pro is compatible with operating voltages ranging from 16 to 24 volts. In addition, both the Ring Chime and Ring Chime Pro are compatible with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2.
Visit our support center for a list of mechanical and electronic doorbell chimes we have tested and confirmed are compatible with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2.

Posted .Hi LarryA.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of a seamless setup process so that you can begin using your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro right away. The features and technology provided by the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the connection concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Ring Wired Doorbell Pro is designed to work with your home's wifi network and is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 or 5GHz frequencies. If you're receiving a 'Setup did not complete' message and cannot finish setup, it could be due to one of these common causes of setup failures:
* Your Ring device is too far from your wifi router. Ideally, your router should be within 20 feet of your Ring device.
* There's a possible problem with your internet connection.
* There's a possible issue related to your wifi modem or router.
Make sure your wifi router is off the floor.
Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere or weaken your router’s wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location.
Make sure you're entering the correct password. Passwords are case sensitive and do not include spaces. Your network password can often be found on the bottom or side of your router.
Wifi passwords are case and special character (such as *,@,$, or #) sensitive. Double check letter capitalization and placement.
If you haven't changed your wifi password since your router was installed, it may be on a sticker on the underside of your router.
Connect other devices to your wifi network using your last remembered password to verify it is still correct.
If you have multiple networks or a wifi extender, confirm you are connecting to the correct one.
Make sure to connect to the 2.4 GHz network, not 5 GHz. All Ring devices can connect to 2.4 GHz, while only select Ring devices have Dual-Band Wifi to be able to connect to either.
If you’re still having issues, try holding down the reset button on top of the camera for 20 seconds. Before you reset your device, make sure to download any videos in your account.
If you are attempting to connect to a community wifi network, you may need to reach out to your internet service provider to manually add the MAC ID of the Ring device to allow it to connect to your wifi.
We invite you to reach out to our community if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other.
Thank you,
Amilia from Ring.
