Plastic is very thick but easy to cut with a good sharp knife or wire snips. Would highly recommend for high quality speaker connection.

Was thinking about getting the premium quality cables but those will have to wait. Paired these with some banana plugs and feel like the value proposition is better than multi-hundred dollar cables even if the sound quality **might** be a little reduced comparatively

I am very pleased with the quality of this item. 16 gauge wire was a bit of a hassle in inserting into speaker terminal connections, vs 18 gauge or thinner wire, but for long lengths, a thicker wire will give you less resistance and a better sound.
