Have been using flat black wire for many years. This coated copper wiring was easy to split and strip ends . Wire was marked which made it easier to run from the speakers to back of receiver and match up positive and negative post.

Rocketfish 16 Gauge Speaker Wire

The low resistance of the copper wire produced great results. I got rid of an older aluminum core wire that was causing occasional static. The copper wire cost more, but it is worth it.

Conduct between my receiver, and the speakers I connected with the wire, is perfectly sound. The positive markings on the leads go a long way toward maintaining proper polarity. I had difficulty separating the ends of the wires, and the plastic sheathing is just a bit too thick, resisting most of my efforts to cut and strip the wire when I needed to. Overall, though, this is worth getting, especially if you have to replace old wires in your setup.

Tthe 16 gauge makes it heavy enough for handling long distances. The way that they encode the plastic insulation with "+" symbols makes it very easy to follow for the correct polarity setting during installation.

The outer covering for the wire is soft and pliable, which makes it nice for going around corners. This is exactly the speaker wire that I was looking for and they had it in stock. Don’t choose to save a little bit of money and get thinner speaker wire. If you want the best quality sound you need to have the best quality speaker wire, and this is it. Highly recommended.
