I wasn't trying to use it with straight hdmi - it might have worked then. I needed it to work with a cat 5e/6 switch box that come in the RV we purchaced

It is possible that splitting to devices which all have matching native resolution and refresh rates would have worked fine, but there are issues with splitting to such different kinds of monitors. THIS MAY NOT BE A PROBLEM WITH THE SPLITTER. It might be a problem with using it with different monitors.

Useless for splitting between 4K and non 4K

If I plug in only the 4K tv hdmi cable, then I receive 4k output but as soon as I plugin the second hdmi cable which is not a 4k device, the output to my 4k tv is also limited to HD output. So every time I need to watch a 4K program on my tv, I need to unplug the second output cable and restart the device. May work fine if both your output devices are HD or both of them are 4K but if one is 4K and one is HD then you will need to unplug the HD cable for watching 4K programs. Was past my return widow.

Not sure if it is my HDMI cable, something with the HDCP 2.2 or something else. But I only get 1080p out on both sides.

not a fix all

There are situations this will work, but I needed consistency so can't really recommend.

Recommended by Best Buy Chat. Wrong Splitter

We discussed my TV and the accessories I wanted to add to it with a splitter. The tech sent me a picture of this splitter and said it would work. It was the wrong one. I wrote instructions on the little pamphlet inside the package so I don't think I can return it. Then, I chatted online again, and the tech that I got the next time told me I needed another, more expensive splitter. The splitter works ... just not for the number of additions I needed.

The only thing worse than the performance of this HDMI splitter is the customer experience at Morgantown, WV Best Buy. The kids you have trying to take care of customers are absolutely clueless.
