We bought this product as a means to use to split our cable lines, so that we could have the internet shoot right to the modem and to receive cable television. The gold plating definitely helps with the signal.

Needed to be able to get my local channels and Internet to my computer with only one cable jack in my apartment.

Needed to improve uptime on my cable modem. I had to upgrade to a DOCS 3.0 cable modem and when I did the wifi kept dropping off in my house. I read some online reviews and the suggestion made if you use a cable splitter you may see improvement with a better piece of harware. My current splitter was an old radio shack circa 1990's. For a relatively inexpensive part our home wifi is now consistent with no drop offs. Must have been the slight change in resistance through the splitter.

It allowed me to gently attach coaxial cables without complaint. I suspect it was what it secretly wanted all along.

This is used for split the signal of the High Speed Internet and the Digital TV. It works great, no problems at all.

This appears to pass signals, but didn't pass DC voltage as stated with features. It will pass RF signals from one source to two outputs: such as TVs & etc. Wanted it for passing DC, didn't meet my needs.

Used this in my daughter's dorm room to share the cable. Let us hook up two tvs for each roomate. Was easy to use.
