It does what you would expect a coaxial cable to do as long as you don't need it to stretch beyond six feet. The fact that it is black is irrelevant unless that color will clash with your interior.

I was trying to install a tv antenna (cutting the cord). Instructions indicated it might be needed, so I purchased as a just in case. Other Rocketfish products I have purchased have worked great!

The gold plating makes it a better conductor which in turn creates a better connection. Plus the density of the cable itself makes me more confident in the longevity of its use.
