Yes this cable is much thicker than the one which comes with the sound bar. The thicker cable is less appealing than the original equipment and is priced right in case the kitty takes a liking to this cable too.

Worked well!

Did not take the time to trouble shoot if the problem was this optical cable or the new head phones. Purchased another brand of head phones and cable which worked great.

I attached it to my older tuner/amp. and to my new Samsung TV that has a special hook-up box. The optical audio cable did the job and now I am enjoying my new TV with my many years old surround sound system.
