The jacks snap into place and stay secured. Overall its cool to have an optical out to play music.

With a change in plans, I replaced the 12' cable with a 4' cable - saving on the cost of the cable. Best Buy exchanged the cable without any problems.

I tried some other brands/types and got a loud hissing in the background...unusable...so I'm now happy with this.

Also it connects perfectly to the back of the TV. The cable supplied with the new soundbar had a loose connection. Worth the money.
