When the technician came out he replaced with one of theirs and explained that even though this is a name brand and gold it still is not as good as their commercial grade. I was using to split line to cable and modem.

We know that this splitter works wonders for other customers. However, I still recommend following your cable company's advice, no reason why not to use their equipment. You can always keep this one for future use like an antenna splitter.
