It is clear so you can see what you are working with and one side of the wire pair is clearly marked so you can be sure your connections are correct. That was one of my initial concerns until I noticed how well it was marked.

The jacket on it seems to be fairly thick compared to my older wire. Keep that in mind if trying to run in areas with little room like speaker stands. It took a bit of effort to get it through the stand.
