Either way my TV reception has been very clear and no issues with losing sign during storms. I have 4 tv's hooked up to it and run about 30 foot cable as the longest line. For the money, it's worth adding it to your system for piece of mind.

Great for boosting your TV antenna signal

Nice back up

This one is not as strong - but helps when ours fails while waiting for the cable company to come out to the house... it's a nice back up

But apparently neither did their "heavy-duty commercial grade" boosters, either.
