I purchased this in place of the audioquest simply because it was less and I needed a longer cable after purchasing a new tv. As mentioned the cable serves its purpose and does send a signal regardless of the fit.

Does not allow for audio control with the TV remote though, had to dig out the remote for the sound bar again.

This product was suggested to me by one of the bestbuy employees to fix the issue and it worked great. You do have to turn the tv speakers off because they will continue to play along with the sound bar.
