It's an optical cable, it works, what else is there to say? For everyday purposes this is a fairly priced cable and construction seems solid. Owners of high-end systems may want to buy something more exotic, but I don't see the need.

Got a new sound bar and sub and no extra hdmi outputs, but this worked just as well.

Need to take plastic off of the tips of the wires in order to insert into tv and sound bar but there are no directions to inform one how to plug into the systems.

Essentially you need an actual receiver and not an out-of-box DVD or Blu-ray surround sound system
