Non-standard base prevents use

While it does look good, it prevents use in many standard optical connectors. The Insignia optical cable on the other hand is more standardized and fits easily. Honestly, there is no performance/technical benefit to purchasing this more expensive (or any other) optical cable. Fiber transmits using light: the quality of the cable, insulation, or even expensive metal contacts will not change the speed of light or improve the "quality" of the connection. Save your money.

Had to stay with rocketfish brand as it was all that was available at the time at bestbuy.
