For a low budget option it really works good and the sound it really good. I have been using it for a little while now and have no problems out of it. I is differently worth checking out if you are not wanting to spend a lot of money.

One problem that we did encounter was the optical output on the TV had too little clearance for the diameter of the cable end outside jacket. Slight cutting away of the plastic cabinet where the cable plugs in solves the problem.

Perfectly fine optical cable

Worked well for my older receiver that did not have HDMI input. Ran between TV and AV receiver and there are no synchronization problems.

MUCH better sound, especially in the rear surround sound speakers than hdmi. The dogs are still getting used to it, but we love it!

As a bonus, now you control all your components, except the receiver, with the TV remote. Set-up is not intuitive so watch the videos. I bought the optical cable because the ARC cable did not work as advertised.

Although, I did feel that the soundbar had too much bass and not enough middle or upper range to it.
