However the connection was quite good and it did improve the loudness of the tv.

I find the connection via toslink gives me the cleanest sound without having to route everything through my receiver.

It is also actually shortend the lag time and has made my sound from my soundbar to my TV come in crystal clear and perfectly in sync. I'm glad I bought it

Didn't want to use the Yamaha receiver as a switcher, just as an amp for external speakers. Audio only with this optical cable works fine
