I have to use this cable until I buy a 4K pass through AV Receiver. I hooked it up and it works great. The sound is clear and crisp.

While the Toslink insert has b=been standardized, many manufacturers have suffered under the assumption that the connection area on the device they are intended for is flat. In many cases it is not. The actual insertion port may be contained in a shallow recessed cavity of its own which may be of any size or dimension. This being the case, the enormous size of the finger collar of the connector is often too large to fit into this nonstandard recess. The solution to this issue would be to make certain that the finger collar scarcely larger in diameter than the standard Toslink insert itself.
