They work. I'm unfamiliar with other options out there, but I have not had any issues what so ever.

This was part of the purchase with our new entertainment system. I noted that it locks in to the ports much better than the Monster cord I had for so many years.

The sales person told me I would need this to hook up my laptop to a projector. At a later date I brought in my laptop and the projector and still got cords that wouldn't work.
