It did fit more snugly into slot though. But it is always a good idea to update your cables after several years.

Makes the whole sound better

The jacks snap into place and stay secured. Overall its cool to have an optical out to play music.

So, those whose device requires an optical digital cable this will accommodate your needs.

I've never used optical style before, so the connection took a minute to get right, but now it works fine. Use it with my LG 4K Blu-ray player and my Samsung TV.

I tried some other brands/types and got a loud hissing in the background...unusable...so I'm now happy with this.
