I upgraded to everything 4k, my TV and receiver and all other components. I got everything home and hooked everything up to my older hdmi cables. The picture did not look as sharp as it did in the store. I went back, got these cables, hooked it all up again and you can see a difference. I was thinking these cables were a scam for more money but they actually do improve the quality of the picture. Bite the bullet and upgrade the cables too when getting new 4k equipment.

I bought this item as I'm yet to upgrade my HD 5.1 Receiver (HDCP 1.3 / No ARC) to a 4K 5.1 Receiver (HDCP 2.2 / ARC) for all my new UHD devices. So I puchased this item to get me by until then. Installed the cable to my UHD Vizio TV and Onkyo HD Receiver so I won't have too rely on the TV speakers. Now I'm able to watch 4K movies with surround sound experience. This optical cable did the job.

We bought a new Sony 4X TV and had an older Sony 5.1 surround sound system. The sales folks pushed sound bars at $500 to $1000 until I said I had an older Sony 5.1 surround sound system connected via component cables. They said to try this optical cable first because they believed my old system supported that connection...well it did and the two Sony systems work great together and I saved hundreds by avoiding a sound upgrades.
