    Purchased because I needed it for day of use. But I found a cable before opening and took it back. You can get this type of cable (HDMI to DVI) online for a better price.

    The adapter works well. However, I wished that the HDMI end was narrower so that the adapter would not get in the way of other HDMI cables. The HDMI to DVI adapter would've probably worked better for my needs but it was more expensive.

    I purchased this to hook my Directv HD box up to a 21" computer monitor for the kids playroom. It was easy to use just plugged right into the HDMI port and i used the DVI cable that came with the monitor to hook to the monitor. it was simple plug and play. Now I bought RCA computer speakers and hooked it straight to the Directv box and presto full system for $50.00 using a monitor that I already had just sitting in a box not being used.
