In this case, I had to cut the brace so I could access the HDMI port and power source on the back of the tv. But there were so many cutouts on the brace, the design may be intended for that purpose (it’s so intuitive I don’t read the directions).

The guy came to our place and informed us that if we had steel studs in our walls then his company had a strict rule to not install using this type of mount. Thankfully we found wood studs, but it's an issue that was never disclosed to us when we bought, so be aware.

So easy to rotate tv for optimal viewing. Rotates over 45 degrees in each direction; good tilting also. Just be careful when extending it out from wall, not to bump your head on tv.
