It does give one the ability to move the screen in whatever direction is needed. For me, I can turn it to view from the kitchen while cooking or toward the living room when resting.

It is high quality and for the most part very easy to install. Your biggest challenge will be the match/ attachment of you tv to the mount and that will vary depending on the tv you own but it the mount works with most tvs. Check the website and the back of your tv to check. Getting the wall mount on the wall is fairly simple. A template included with the mount makes the job very easy.
