Worked fine with Win 7 64-bit

Wasn't sure I wanted to chance it given a previous reviewer with concerns for Win 7 64-bit. Took the chance when I purchased a new HP dm4-1165dx laptop from Bestbuy, knowing BB would allow the adapter to be returned. Win 7 recognized the adapter and loaded drivers without incident. The laptop has easily paired with a Bold 9000 and Bluetooth headset. So far the only time it has dropped a pairing is when I close the lid and let the laptop go to sleep mode. I suspect that is normal behavior. Wanted this one because of the small size. Have not yet figured out how to turn off the Bluetooth without unplugging the adapter but that is probably more of a laptop issue. I had no issues with Win 7 64-bit but Bluetooth can be finicky and remember I installed it on a new, clean laptop. With Bestbuy's return policy you should be able to buy this with confidence knowing it can be returned.

    Great little BT Adapter

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I recently picked this adapter up with a netbook which didn't have a Bluetooth chip - and no disappointments. It connects to my Apple & other BT keyboards, Targus BT mouse and even as well an older Motorola S9 headset. As well it is 2.1 EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and speed is rated at 2.1 Mbit/s (good for printing/ad-hoc networking, etc.). This adapter works with the following Operating Systems: Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista, Windows 7 - and yes - even Ubuntu 9.04 (I think one of the previous reviewers forgot to install the "bluez" package/stacks/libs - which installs automatically if the adapter is inserted during a system installation?).. Anyway a couple of suggestions.. If you purchase this product, download the Broadcom stack from the Rocketfish support site (be sure to select the Micro adapter, rather than the larger USB adapter drivers).. Use that package to install for both XP & Windows 7 (Win 7 didn't include all the audio drivers - but the Broadcom package is compatible with Win 7). If you are a Vista user - you should be set with the default install... Overall - a great little BT Adapter that takes up very little space when installed. I did rate it a 4 for "Value", as there are other small BT adapters available from other sources, but they have mixed reviews for the various operating systems/devices.

Works as advertised, clear sound, good range

I bought this to work from home with Skype and a Plantronics Pro bluetooth headset on a Win 7 desktop computer. Rather than using the supplied driver, I downloaded the latest from their website (my own best practice I guess). After installation, the headset paired with it easily and I was up and going quickly. I haven't tested the range going upstairs but it does appear to cover all of the first floor of my home. Definitely a cheaper alternative to the Plantronics usb adapter that would have been my next choice given the headset I was trying to use. :) So far, so good...

I love this device because it was east to install. It comes with a cd to put in your laptop or pc as soon it loads up its ready for use. Did not skit or glitch everything runs smoothly. It also contains a blue led lighting. So when you insert into usb port it lights up blue and it looks pretty. This device is small, convenient and hardly noticeable. all you would see is the small blue light blinking. you would love it. guarantee....

Works but seems to cause hardware conflicts

I own three of these Rocketfish Bluetooth adapters and two of them seem to cause hardware conflicts. This was diagnosed through trial and error. One of our Win 7 computers will freeze at the beginning of boot-up if we forget to unplug this Bluetooth adapter. Unplug it and the PC boots fine. After boot-up we plug it in and all is fine until a reboot is needed. The second one is used on a Win 7 laptop and will cause the system to randomly freeze. If we keep it unplugged the system freezes don't happen. The third one is on an older XP Pro PC and works fine all the time. Of course, the actual cause of the freezes could be something else entirely and it only appears to be the Bluetooth adapter.

I received my order after only 5 days. I inserted the USB into the computer. It was quickly recognized and installed and in operation within minutes. I was able to start printing with an HP Officejet 100 mobile printer right then. The best thing I like about it is being able to turn the adapter on/off without having to remove it from the laptop just by clicking the icon in the task bar. Price was very reasonable.

I am currently using this with a Toshiba L305-S5955 laptop that has been modified. It works great with XP and the Rocketfish™ Mobile - RF-MAB2 High-Definition Stereo Bluetooth Headphones. I would recommend this to anyone who would like a bluetooth setup for their PC.

    Good Bluetooth Adapter

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Thanks to all of the reviews I read prior to the purchase of this bluetooth adapter I went home knowing that it would not be an easy setup. When I initially plugged in the adapter and ran the software I downloaded off of the rocketfishproducts(.)com website I was unable to detect the device because software I had installed previously, motioninjoy; which allows me to connect a Playstation 3 controller to my PC to use it as a controller, was installing it's own version of the driver for the bluetooth adapter which would not allow the bluetooth software to recognize the hardware. I tried installing the software for my 64 bit installation of windows by pulling it from the Software folder in the BTW-2K folder on the disc and ran the install, installing without having located the hardware (it is recommended you read further below for a "proper" install, this step did not need to be done so prematurely). In order to install the correct drivers and software I needed to go into my device manager and uninstall the drivers, however, the key step to this was checking the "delete the software for this device" box in order to prevent it from installing it again next time. I disconnected the adapter then reconnected it in the same port and it recognized the hardware and installed everything beautifully. I tested multiple devices including my cellphone and a Bluetooth headset. From what I gathered on the forums it seems that installing Motioninjoy again after getting the adapter to work will not mess everything up again and should be good, if you needed that software. Notes: - I have Windows 7 Ultimate (x64). - The driver for Motioninjoy appeared in the Device Manager under Microsoft Controller. I hope this helps for those of you who bought it and didn't know what to do or are looking to buy it but are concerned about the reviews stating it doesn't work.

Works well on Windows XP and Vista. Haven't tried on Windows 7 yet, but other reviews say it works fine. Extremely small profile. Easy install. I'm very pleased with this product. There might be other products for less money; however, I don't think you'll find any this small / compact.

LG 420G does not allow for an interface cable. No way to get pictures off the phone. After searching different forums, saw reference to Bluetooth Adapter, works great, easy to install. Some people complained about win. 7 not working, worked first time for me, simple installation.

I bought this to hook up my blackberry to my new laptop and use a program called Bluctrl. It allows you to use your blackberry as a bt mouse and keyboard so it functions as a remote when hooked up to an hdtv. For this it works great, I also paired my plantronics headset but have not used it so I can't say how it works. I especially like the fact that it is small enough and does not stick out so I can leave it attached in my bag.

I installed this dongle on my HP G72 laptop to perform wireless bluetooth printing on my HP 100 portable printer. I have only used the combo at a distances of 10 feet or less and have had no problems thus far (using for 1 month).

Just bought this for my 2007 Mac Pro 1, 1 model which didn't have any bluetooth module. My other mouse's track ball gave out (again) and since I had an apple Magic Mouse for my macbook pro, I decided to grab the Rocketfish - Micro Bluetooth USB Adapter as I needed to have mouse capabilities same day vs purchasing and having another USB dongle shipped to me. Drove down the local Best Buy and picked this up. Went home, plugged the bluetooth USB dongle into my machine and that was it. No need to download a driver as the Mac software recognized the USB dongle and started showing bluetooth capability in the menu bar and preferences.

This Bluetooth USB dongle doesn't advertise that it works with Macs, but I was able to use it with my Mac Pro. My on-board Bluetooth was not currently working, so I used this device to temporally use BT for my touchpad. I was able to plug it in and and have it work without any setup or configurations.

Works great - if you know how to use bluetooth

My wife uses bluetooth on your cell phone and company laptop -- but wanted to use it on her home PC as well, which didn't have bluetooth. We added this USB device to the home PC and it works great - as long as the other devices have their bluetooth radio turned off. If there are multiple devices with bluetooth enabled, then the headset she uses may not always connect to the right one -- which isn't really a problem with THIS product, per se, but bluetooth technology in general. That said, it works exactly as described - and we've had no issues with it since purchased (and installing the correct drivers). Good value for the money.

This Bluetooth adapter works well with my Motorola Elite Flip but I cannot get it to work with my Jawbone Icon. I'm thinking this may be a Windows 7 problem more than an adapter problem but I'm not sure. Windows 7 tells me it is searching but it never recognizes my ear piece.

I just purchased this product yesterday, so I can't speak about the how long it will last. But so far, it's exactly what I wanted and needed. My pc is running Windows 8. As soon as I plugged it in, it immediately recognized it and installed it. Within a minute, it found the bluetooth device I was trying to pair to my pc and paired without any issues. I would definitely purchase another at this point, but I guess time will tell if doesn't last as others state.
