Installation wasn't the best, but it works great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I mix music on my computer, usually with nice headphones and i needed a quick way to listen to my mix on speakers without having to unplug my headphones, plug in a speaker connector, turn the speaker on etc. Just needed something quick so i could go back and forth easily. I walked into best buy and this is the only model usb bluetooth adapter they had. For $20 and the option to return it if it didn't work....why not? So i brought it home. Did a little reading of the reviews. Everyone said don't use the included disc, the drivers etc are outdated. Most of the reviews also said it didn't work with windows 7 64-bit. I have windows 7, thought it was 32-bit, but figured out later it was definitely 64. Any way, following recommendations i went straight to the rocketfish website, typed in the model number, and all the updated software/drivers were there all ready to go with one click. Installed, recognized my devices, but wouldn't connect with them. Called rocketfish's 1-800 number. The nice rep just told me to uninstall the drivers, restart the computer and then reinstall and it should work. Low and behold, it actually worked. Paired my speakers, my phone and my tv (which i had no idea had bluetooth). Everything works great. My speaker is really close and my computer doesn't move. I have no dropouts, but i can't really comment on the range as everything is in close proximity. And for all you naysayers IT WILL WORK WITH WINDOWS 7 64 BIT!!!! Anyway, for my application, it works great. You may have to go through a 10 minute headache to get everything installed properly, but it will work once setup correctly.

Great for multiple items
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little confused as to why so many people were having trouble with using this on windows 8. It works perfectly fine. I also got this to use my wii and xbox controller to play games on my pc and it works just fine. I can have up to 7 devices at once so all 4 wii remotes to play emulated games is no trouble when paired with a wireless sensor bar. =) Just make sure you get the latest drivers. Google rocketfish micro bluetooth adapter and go from there. Again, yes it works with win8, sucessfully connects wii remotes as well as 3rd party wii remotes (afterglow/madcatz) xbox contollers.

Works great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It did work on my windows 7 in both 32-bit and 64-bit (both on desktop computer) and it also works on my laptop. I once forgot to use installation disc for it and surprisingly it works fine. Ok I bought it for my ps3 controller (ps3 controller to pc software required) and it worked great! Great bluetooth!

Easy to plug-n-play, but can't use generic drivers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was glad the Best Buy associate knew where to look for this device, as it is the only one carried in-store at my location, and it is not with other laptop peripheral devices. It seemed a bit pricey, but I bought it anyway because it was the only available option. It has worked fine for me, but only after I installed the drivers off the CD. When Windows 7 detected the new device, it installed generic drivers for it, and it appeared to activate properly; however, audio in my bluetooth headphones was not functional. I could not determine why until some Internet searches led me to conclude that it was a driver issue and made me go to the install CD that came with it. After loading the manufacturer's provided driver, the device worked fine.

Solid Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this about a week, and overall, it has been a good buy, especially for about $20. Two caveats, one major, one minor. Major problem is that while it plugs in and works with Linux (Mint Xfce 15), the connection speed drops down randomly (to 70kbs, 1990s modem speeds!), unless you use the WinXP drivers with NDiswrapper, requiring you to reconnect to the network after a certain amount of data is transferred (watching a long HD video on YouTube, streaming music for an hour, a system update). With NDiswrapper, it's been fine. Second caveat, the cap that comes with it is useless, doesn't cling to the adapter at all. Not an issue for me, but perhaps for someone.

good addition to system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product to add bluetooth to older systems. Could use some extra features on the software for making connections secure. I wish the stores would carry it locally and not just on the web.

Great Solution to add Bluetooth to Win7 PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed bluetooth for a Win7 PC to connect my itunes library to my Sound Freq sound system. Rocketfish USB adapter was very easy to install, setup, and use. No problem with Win7 either. No Win7 driver required, just the Rocketfish bluetooth driver that comes with it.

Excellent option for adding Bluetooth to PC!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Plugged it into my Windows 8 64 bit machine. No software on the included disc for Win 8, but when I installed, it took me to the Rocketfish website and allowed a new driver install option, which I did and it went flawlessly. Easily connects to my Bluetooth stuff without any problem. NO problems at all. Just be careful where you put this adapter, as it is very small and could be easily lost. But with it's size, it is low profile enough that you could leave it plugged right into a USB port at all times.

Great Bluetooth
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install, connects to devices easily and is hidden behind the cover of my desktop computer. You wouldn't know its there but it works without opening the front panel cover. It connected to my wifes Palm Treo and my Jabra headset immediately.

Would not work with my 64 bit computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After calling Tech Support 2 times, I was finally told that the software, that was included was primarly for a 32 bit computer. The tech said, it was a hit or miss situation, when it come to the install on a 64 bit computer. I was told to return the device to Best Buy, and to ask for a adapter, that was made to work with a 64 bit computer. Hope this keeps some one else from wasting their time. I have used Rocket Fish mice, and have always been pleased with their performance.

Rocketfish™ Micro BT Adapter: Nice But Pricey
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I got a Windows 7 notebook, my old laptop Belkin Bluetooth (BT) adapter became useless. I wanted something that was compatible with Win7 and that didn't have a large footprint (stick out too far). This mini adapter fit the bill perfectly. And, it even works better: i.e., it doesn't drop connections like my old one did. Again, the price was kind of high. But, ...

Awesome! IT WORKS!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is awesome. It can juggle up to 5 bluetooth devices at one time. It comes with a software CD that when plugged in provides automatic updates with the newest software online.... so in otherwords... KEEP THE DISC. If something changes or it seems slow... or you want to just check for updates... put the disc in! Its simple. You can add as many devices to the list as you want and can have 5 simultaneously running. This does not slow or cut connections to devices. This meens that you can have 5 devices and it will run the same as using one device and you will not experience connection problems! For those of you that are not computer literate... it comes with a guide thats step by step that is digit length thick and book like. E N J O Y!!!

Pretty good product if used right.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great for me. I can transfer files to and from multiple Bluetooth devices and it is pretty fast in transferring. My only complaint was that my computer says it can play audio from my iPod wirelessly using Bluetooth, but it does not work. I've tried several different configurations both on my iPod and on the computer, but to no avail.

WILL work with Windows 8.1 with driver update
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because my laptop did not come with Bluetooth installed and I wanted to stream music to my Insignia stereo system. Found this adaptor as an open item for $3 off so I bought it. Initially it didn't work, the drivers included are for XP/Vista/7 and I have Windows 8.1. I went to the Broadcom site and downloaded the drivers- still didn't work. Then I went to the manufacturers site for my laptop and downloaded Bluetooth drivers there (but not for my model, for a different model). Still didn't work. Tried the Broadcom drivers again, this time it installed perfectly. Works pretty good, I get about a 25 foot range before it won't connect. Sound is great going from my laptop to my stereo. One minor issue, it seems to require a lot of resources- if I am doing anything else on my laptop while streaming music the music starts to get "glitchy". I have to close all other programs and just stream the music, and even then there is an occasional "skip" now and then. But overall I am happy with it, it allowed me to move my stereo to a location that would not have worked had the streaming not been possible.

Great for Palm Treo Hotsync
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm still using an old Palm Treo 680 as my smartphone, and its hotsync cradle became corroded beyond hope. So, I purchased this inexpensive bluetooth adapter to plug into my computer, changed the Palm's hotsync settings to use bluetooth instead of USB, and it worked! I can't tell if this new hotsync setup is faster or slower than the old USB method, but it works 100% of the time, so I'm sticking with it!

Can work if you're patient enough
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I maintain everything at work from an exchange server to the keyboards and mice, and this product resulted in the 3rd most stressful experience I've had this year. My advice if you buy this product is to use the enclosed CD as a coaster, set your cold drink down on it, and go to the manufacturer's website, where they'll refer you to an updated driver which is TOTALLY different than the driver on the CD-ROM, which absolutely does not work. Be patient when using the updated driver installation file; it takes a long time to install, but it will get you going.

Pretty Good Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this today for a laptop running windows 8 to work with my new Bluetooth headphones. Forget the directions, don't install the software from the disk, don't go to the website and download a new version... Just plug the thing in and let windows install it and it works great!!!! The range is only about 20 feet, while others claim 30feet so yea!!
