My modem was plugged in the same outlet as this surge protector (major oversight not plugging the modem into the surge protector). During a lightning strike the modem was fried and had to be replaced. No damage or issues with the surge protector or the devices plugged in it. It did the job it was intended to do.

Simple Entertainment Center

This provides plenty of power and protection for my needs. I usually don't care about power strip built-in USB ports, but I've found them useful this time. Not sure I love the low profile switch compared to the classic rocker switch.

About a year ago a had a strong power surge and this saved my TV’s. I wish I would have had all my electronics hooked to them. I had to replace a lot of electronics that was not on surge protectors.

My last rocketfish surge protector lasted 10 years and still protected my home theater setup up to the recent storm which killed the protector. Eveyrhing else still works great!

I'm not sure how sensitive the new TVs are to power surges, so I wanted to be extra careful. It also has a couple of ports for plugging in cell phones or tablets to charge them. I was very pleasantly surprised when my cell phone charged in a little more than half the usual time.
