My modem was plugged in the same outlet as this surge protector (major oversight not plugging the modem into the surge protector). During a lightning strike the modem was fried and had to be replaced. No damage or issues with the surge protector or the devices plugged in it. It did the job it was intended to do.

I'm not sure how sensitive the new TVs are to power surges, so I wanted to be extra careful. It also has a couple of ports for plugging in cell phones or tablets to charge them. I was very pleasantly surprised when my cell phone charged in a little more than half the usual time.
