So, some on-air public channels are sufficient to keep me updated on news and other events. That's why I did not want to pay for cable services and bought this antenna. However, it proved to be completely useless for me, though I think it has something to do with location. If you are located near transmitters, I think naturally you'll have good reception and vice versa. So, do some homework on it before purchasing any indoor antenna.

Depending on where you live relative to the broadcast antennas, you may need to adjust where the antenna is placed: Of the 12 or 13 channels I can get on the antenna, two have static when I place the antenna on my TV stand but it goes away when I put it on the wall.

I'm not saying that this unit is not any good, the walls in my unit are very thick and hard to get over the air signals for local stations.
