I like the ability to play Steam games and other platform games, great graphics all for a reasonable price.

I bought both steam deck oled and this one. I highly recommend steamdeck. Screen was amazing. But battery was not so good.

For their first handheld PC I’m very pleased with the performance from this APU. Anyone complaining about performance is obviously not familiar with APUs. This is extremely powerful for what it is. Would I use it as my only gaming device NO. I have PC for that but to be able to pick up where I left on from my main system is worth it in itself! I’ve been running Red Dead Redemption 2 at 900p low setting (ultra textures) and stay at around 35-40 fps. The game still looks great on such a small display. All in all not really worth it if you plan to make it your main gaming device (at least for newer AAA titles) but for older less demanding games this will crush whatever you can throw at it!

Plays great, for a short period of time. AAA titles will give you roughly 1-1.5 hours of playtime, so far so good! Typically im playing during my lunch break and an hour is just the right amount

Pretty much a compact gaming computer. Display is unbelievable. Some issues with built-in controls on the more processor involved games. Going on vacation with me. Only draw back is battery life

This handheld is amazing. It is basically a ps4 pro portable. The only issue is the sd card slot is defective due to the wrong position of it next to the heat fan.

Way better sceeen than the steam deck, way better color accuract, saturation and contrast. Performance is about 20% better than the Steam Deck at the same 15W power usage. The software side is still a bit buggy but shiild improve overtime

So far, I've had a blast playing games on the go with the ROG ALLY. The storage is deceiving for how well it runs, and when it comes to the gameplay and comfortability in game, I enjoy playing all sorts of genres like racing, RPG, Shooters and basic just drawing and graphics. 10/10 would recommend.

This device is awesome if youre into PCs. If your a console player this might not be the device for you as this can play games but do a whole lot more than that. Its pretty much having a gaming laptop but in a handheld portable form factor. I love that it runs windows out of the box and when add a mouse , keyboard, monitor, its a full on PC. Since this is a full on pc its not plug and play like a console or like steam deck or switch. This device is in a leavie of theor own Upgrades are coming daily to make this device run the best possible. The reason im not goving it 5 stars is that it cant run batocera for all my emulators when every single PC i own can, even a 10year old PC. They need to fox this asap and ill update thos reciew to 5 stars. switxh and sd. This device in its own league. I waasa

It's a great device considering its size and it runs games well, but don't expect it to run every game; it will run most of them. So, as a portable device, I can say it's excellent. My advice to you guys is, if you have a small budget, invest in the X version because the RAM in this device isn't the best.

I love my ROG ally Z1 Extreme.... I also have the Lenovo Legion Go (Best BUY AND) The ROG ally X. I recommended this especially of you are trying get both plus the x and leave on docked to act as you're hone set up and use the x to travel with cause the micro sd works unfortunately the only gripe is that the Z1 Extreme Micro SD doesn't work but the internal memory can be upgraded. Check out my boy King Cato in youtube or kingcatothergamerfgc on tiktok he streams with all of em

Super powerful handheld! Love that it has full blown windows 11 on it. Plays Resident Evil Village, Borderlands 3, and Final Fantasy X and X-2 like a champ. Only complaint is the battery life, but thats not enough for me to rate it lower, i love the thing. Beats the heck out of the Steamdeck

It’s a portable computer. It can play games or you can dock and use it as a desktop. Wait until it’s on sale to get it for the best price. Other than that zero complaints. Average space, but most likely will need to utilize cloud playing when on WiFi.

I have truly enjoyed playing the Ally. It does come with some quirks, but largely it fits the type of gaming I've been looking for. I can play it anywhere, or attach to a dock and play like a console. It can play pretty much any game you throw at it, without losing too much in terms of quality.

Excellent device. I wanted a handheld device that is powerful, quiet, and has a great screen. The ROG Ally checks all the boxes. I can casually game in pretty much any environment and do not have to worry about the fans getting obnoxiously loud. If you set yourself up with realistic expectations, this device is great. With that being said, don’t expect to be able to play on battery for several hours at a time and don’t expect a console like software experience. Running a AAA game on battery in a handheld device with a 7 inch screen on low to medium settings is pretty impressive for the technology that’s available today. Even if it’s only for an hour or two. Also it’s a windows machine so you will need to download your gaming platforms manually and setup like a windows device, but that should be expected.
