Its amazing how the Ally has the gaming chops of much larger gaming built PC's but in a portable form. I've been playing Starfield and Cyberpunk and they both look and play great.

This device is everything I dreamed of in terms of a portable machine that plays my favorite games. I use PC Gamepass so I have access to so many games and this device is able to play them in very high fidelity.

I absolutely love my ally. It plays all my games beautifully. I have had some issues with it running hot, or sometimes the controlls glitching. Other than that it is an amazing device, I just wish the HDMI port was included instead of having to buy it separately.

Awesome handheld for that gaming session that cant wait while nature calls. Unplug, take it with you, finish that dungeon, wipe and done! Good specs for a few bucks less that other Windows handhelds while being a few bucks more than that OtherOS handheld gaming device.

I really enjoy everything so far about the Ally. It’s doing everything I wanted it for. It runs Fallen Order and Baldur’s Gate at a playable FPS. Only thing to bare in mind is the battery life could be better, but that’s about it

Works great been playing all my normal games at atleast 60fps with high settings fan noise might be a problem for some people and the vents can toast your finge4s if theyre long.

The asus rog ally is like a dream come true. As someone who was very involved with the umpc market before it crashed over a decade ago. If you look past the sd card issue what the ally is capable of is amazing. Can't recommend more

Awesome device, love the screen resolution and quality. Would def recommend if you have a steam deck this one is a must try. Just don’t expect great battery life. Keep it plugged of bring a decen battery bank and you will be good to go.

Would be a full 5 stars if the battery lasted longer than 2 hours. Graphic and accessibility is great, I’m not a PC user but was able to get everything set up without a struggle.

Arrived just in time. Screen looks amazing, great performance and easy to use. I loved this devices, but it had a sticky X button that was getting stuck all the time. Besides that everything worked well.

Most of the issues you can see them on YouTube. I love the device since I travel for a living but wish the battery lasted longer. Since I upgraded the SSD to a 2TB there’s no need for the SD Card reader but mine failed and now trying to get some support from ASUS.

Great machine runs world of warcraft with ease just dies within 2 hours of playing world of warcraft if not on charger bu5 if plug in even if gaming only take 45 mins - an hour to fully charge

One of the best Handheld Gaming PC out there overall aesthetics was sharp, cool, and sleek. Disliked the fact the shell around the machine was white I would have preferred the ROG Ally in a darker color like the eclipse grey color they use on their ROG Strix, and Scar Laptops. Performance is very good like how the embedded controller overrides all controls in windows and on games that don't use or have controller support. I think the storage could be better 512GB is not a lot for gaming anymore as most games take about 60-150GB to download and run.

At its price point it can play most PC game good at 1080p. But even when the frames dropped it wasn't a bad experience because there was no screen tearing or skipping. AMD did a good job with this one.

I've had my ROG Ally for almost a year and it's been amazing. It's allowed me to finish games that because of work and just being a parent I wouldn't have been able to other wise. Hanging out on the couch with my wife after aomg hard day just gaming away while she's watching a show is so nice. Not to mention when we go out of town I get to still have my fun haha The battery life sucks though but from my understanding every handheld PC has horrible battery life(about an hour depending on settings). But besides battery life I still recommend this for those with buys lives or for those that travel. You won't forget it.

Money well spent in my opinion, upgraded SSD to 1TB and away I went with zero problems. I'm loving everything about it, except for the battery life and portability but besides that great handheld in my book.

Incredible device - my partner loves it! This thing is a force to be reckoned with, and its power and portability make it a must-have for anyone that loves gaming and needs to travel often.

Do I wanna use this over the steam deck. Hmm, probably not. Its an impressive device. but it would have been more fun of the sides were removeable just like a Nintendo switch. slide in joysticks for games. Slide in a key pad and mouse combo for other stuffs. The gaming experience rivals the steam deck which could be gotten for a little over half the price. overpriced.. yes. this is for you if you want a strictly windows experience on a small screen. Also the joysticks don't make it useful for anything else than gaming. Not the brightest as a portable pc. 699 dollars will get you steam deck or an xbox or a ps5 or even a nice laptop if you have the time to deep search deals.

I was a little skeptical at first, but this does everything I could hope for in a handheld device minus cross platform licensing(which isn't Asus fault or problem to solve). I have fairly large hands and it's incredibly comfortable for me playing hours at a time. I read mixed reviews around the Armory Crate app, but I think it works great and love the ability to customize the buttons per game. I was also really surprised how quicky Windows 11 boots up on the device. The only real flaw I can find is the battery life, but it does recharge really quickly. I probably get a little over an hour of time before it's about dead. I just finished a playthrough of Uncharted Legacy of Thieves and it worked great, sometimes for hours at a time. Highly recommend!

The ROG Ally is Flawed but ultimately shows the potential for this platform. I would not recommend buying this iteration and wait for the next version. I pre-ordered the ROG Ally and have been gaming on it since day one. It's been clear since I first turned it on that this is basically a beta product for Asus. From bios/software issues to hardware issues, this device needed more time in the oven before being released. One example, Asus released a bios update which drastically dropped the device performance and took weeks before they fixed this issue. Another example, there is a known issue where the SD card slot gets overheated potentially causing actual damage to the SD Card and/or the SD slot. Its not all doom and gloom, the screen is great, gaming on it is better than my steam deck. But I would recommend waiting a while to see if they fix the issues or wait until the V2 of this device comes out.
