    I love the device, even moreso because I got it on sale with an extra $100 off because it was open box. It works just fine, and had no cosmetic damage. The device itself is a gamechanger, allowing me to play my entire game library wherever I want. Battery life isn't great, but I knew that going into the purchase.

    Great product for gamers on the go! The setup was, as expected- for a windows 11 based handheld. Beyond setup and the constant need to be on charge- it’s honestly a fun little hot pocket. If you’re fluent with win11 and Armoury Crate- you’ll be fine. No issues with either of the two we’ve purchased this year!

    Was curious about the handheld pc’s and got this one open box. Performance is good if your realistic and dont mind lowering the graphics or resolution for max fps gains. I would recommend this to anyone who likes handheld gaming.

    Im a Steam Deck fan-boy that LOVES the concept of handheld gaming. After having the Deck for over a year I have to say, the ROG Ally is better in almost EVERY way. While I actually prefer the ergonomics of the Deck, the Ally blows it away with performance, compatibility, and style. WHY AREN'T MORE REVIEWS MENTIONING THE SPEAKERS?? The Ally has 10x better sound! I'm loving the Ally and couldn't recommend it more.

    I bought this on launch day and am super impressed with the screen, interface and performance however am having tons of issues running updates (whether they fail or pass, they pass installing and the updater doesnt realize it), to games randomly crashing or not installing. This really needs more time to be ready and should have been delayed instead of pushing for the initial release date. I will be returning mine this evening and going back to my Steam Deck for now. I'll reevaluate in a few months whether or not to upgrade then. For $700, this thing should be performing near flawless and it is not.

    Great system, I have a nintendo switch and this is the perfect combination of handheld and that conencted to a tv to play at a better performance. Love that you can now have pc games more accesible.

    I really like this device and the portability, its not as heavy as i thought it would be, but still feels very sturdy. I bought a silicone case for it and I actually prefer it without the case. Ive used it to play Diablo 4, Palworld, and Baldurs Gate 3 so far - all have run pretty great. So far I’m satisfied with this purchase

    Really impressive for a handheld windows based gaming PC. Runs Diablo 4 and Destiny 2 better than the steamdeck, but you really need to have a battery pack permanently attached. If you get the 65w wall adapter you can output to a monitor or tv and play with controller on a larger screen seamlessly at 1080p / 60 hz or better

    I see a bunch of people knocking this device and always comparing it to the Steam deck. I owned a Deck and got tired of always searching the Net to figure what script I needed to get to work with my LG. To get it to recognize docks NVME drive. The straw that broke the camels back was novel voice over wouldn’t work and I was told to contact the game maker when it work on my PC and Mac. Steam deck is cool but a lot of Hupe. I dumped mine and got the ROG Ally. I’m so happy I’m not having to go to desktop enter in text to get functions to work. When did I become an employee of Steam? The Ally works really good for. Instead of having to tinker to get stuff to work I can actually go play. And because of the Windows OS I haven’t had a game not play. I don’t have to typ in scripts to get Xbox cloud to work. I just long into Battlenet x loud etc and it works. Yes the battery drains fast if you have the performance setting cranked up. To me the ROG Ally is a better experience than the Steam deck. I came to play games not work on a handheld. Put in the first day to do updates and downloads then after that just play. I feel the display quality is awesome. I’m just really happy with this unit so far. For me it is way less frustrating than the Steam Deck. They are two different handhelds with different strengths and weaknesses. But for me the ROG Ally was more fun and enjoyable to use. The only thing I don’t like is cost. And lastly Best Buy shipped this thing mad fast. I’m starting to really enjoy Best Buy again

    While it is practically a mini pc. I enjoy that I can play my games from Xbox, Steam, EA, & Epic games that I play on my laptop. It does get hot when performance is set at turbo and will use the battery quickly. I usually use Silent mode or 15w performance to keep battery a little longer. I also upgraded to 1tb nvme to add more games hit also have a 1TB micro for additiononal storage.

    I was torn between purchasing this ,the STEAM DECK. Or a PS5. There are games on PS that I cant play on XBOX so I figured with tne ROG I could hook it up to TV and play and take on the go.I glad I purchased the Asus ROG. The battery life is not the best. Also set some time aside for inital setup as there ate quite a few UPDATES. After that it was smooth sailing . BTW the graphics on this look amazing

    It's got nice hardware and a nice screen as well as a decent pair of speakers. However, the software side of things is what destroys the device. It uses Windows natively which is nice in terms of universal access to software and programs, but the downfall is that it's extremely difficult to navigate using this device. It's also very hard to do basic things like launch a game due to the way everything is integrated. It feels like software is tacked on to this product rather than native like the steam deck. Unfortunately I think that this isn't THE handheld to get and it's going to take another year or two to get something that's just right. I already sold my Steam deck but I don't think that device is up to snuff in the hardware but is way better in the interface. Maybe Steam and ASUS can work together to release a best of both worlds device, but in the meantime I'm going back to my laptop.

    Great handheld after setup

    This thing is a beast of a gaming experience. Upon ordering I was a bit skeptical due to some of the reviews stating bad BIOS updates, fried SD card issues and joystick dead zone issues but I have not had any of the issues stated. Given I opted out of using an SD card and instead updated the SSD to a 2TB. The initial windows set up was a bit of a pain but once you get through that it works like a dream.

    I am so blown away with this. It's literally a baby PC. Perfect for traveling! It's not comparable to Logitech G-Cloud. I am honestly impressed! My only complaint is the battery life. You will need some type of power bank if you want to play longer on this platform.

    This is a very powerful hand held PC, every single game i have played runs 100 percent, im very impressed by the graphics power and performance. I cant put it down, battery lasts little over 2 hours at mid settings but playing while plug in its easy and it wont bother me at all. Games looks great even at low settings to save battery. This is a must have

    For the past week or so i have enjoyed quite alot of games and titles with this device and I am always in shock of how well games are being runned on this device. Although there are some issues such as the battery life, apart from that it’s really a great system to play games on at home or on the go. I am really looking forward to what this device has to offer in terms of updates as this is only the start!

    This device has been one my favorite purchases in the last couple of years. It actually has become my laptop. I gave the device three stars because there are some things that could be better. All in all its pretty good. Pros: -Windows 11 so it compatible with most things that are compatible with windows11. -Awesome sound. ( I hardly have to go beyond 20 out of 100) -Awesome performance -Storage is upgradeable Cons: -*BATTERY LIFE* ( yes I meant all caps) -Sticks seem a bit light (I would like a bit more tension on them) -Factory Storage size ( Though its easy to upgrade) -Only one color to choose from

    This things an absolute beast, doesn't come ready to go out of the box but after some set up and experimenting with different settings it is a gaming monster. The main complaint I have is the battery life is very very low for most games

    Feels great in the hand. I like the design. Good performance. However, it kept not reading my sd-cards. And Window's explorer would often completely freeze. In addition, the Armory Crate software, while having good features and shortcuts, wouldn't always respond. I read around and tried a couple other alternative software, like Handheld Companion, and G-helper. These seemed good but not as easy and then some of the physical shortcut keys (for example, launching software, or bringing up the keyboard) weren't working. I like the idea of these devices, but at this time I think a laptop with a controller is 100x a better choice. Sadly there don't seem to be any laptops with new AMD chips in this price range.
