This is an amazing gaming handheld. Every game ive tried on it worked and it has amazing preformace. The only two things that are not so nice about this is the battery life and the storage if your going to be playing aaa games

The heat issue on turbo mode from bios update which lead to ssd overheat in the process what lead to bring back but the device itself and concept is great! Once out for bit longer and main issues are resolved then will probably repurchase again.

Amazing. 0 sd card issue. 0 speaker issue. Intuitive game setup. I loved that this was windows over my steam deck with linux and proton this and update this proton for this or that bleh! If you can run a pc this system is fantastic. Better screen. Better processor. Better gpu. Better memory. Better ssd. Easily worth the extra money.

Great device,powerful to play almost any game, this is not the switch so at times it takes a little playing around with and battery life is not great. This is my only go to gaming device right now.

I am loving having the Ally. It has a very powerful performance with its different TDP profiles. The face buttons feel mushy in a good but the sticks feel kinda loose which I don't like but I haven't had any dead zone with the sticks. the D-Pad feels really good and works well with 2D games and works well for fighting games. the triggers feel excellent and the RB and LB buttons feel better than the steam decks. My only reason for giving it 4 stars is because of the software. Asus does a great job with it but Windows just doesn't feel like it was meant for a handheld but here is where the fun can come in. Because its windows there are so many things you can do to fine-tune the experience. From fine-tuning the TDP with manual mode to setting up controls for games you wanna play in armory crate is awesome. If you are someone who loves to mess with settings and discover things pick this up today!

The only achilles heel of this device is the storage capacity. 500gb is not ever sufficient, however you can upgrade the storage to 2TB for around $200. However, you’d might as well just get the upgraded model for $50 more on top of that. This device is for people who want to play games that have downloadable addons or run third party anti-cheat software like Destiny 2. The Steam Deck cannot support anything beyond the base games.

I ended up returning this. It was ok but you have to do a lot of tinkering with it to get a lot of games to work. First off the size is ok its a bit bigger than a Nintendo Switch. It is technically portable but the battery life is terrible. About an hour and a half max even playing simple games. My kids like playing Among Us a fairly simple game. They could play it on the phone for 5 to 10 hours but in this its still 90 minutes max. Second after a bios update it got real glitchy. That combined with the low battery life made the decision to return it pretty easy.

I really wanted to like the Ally. The plus side of being a Windows device and easily installing games is nice. Clean layout, Great screen, … a lot of nice features! The problems come in with battery life and stability though. I experienced several crashes on Steam games and once where a restart was required to resolve the in-game crash. Battery really feels undersized for this device too. I think what made me return it in the end was the D-pad. I like to play some games that require it and it has a poor placement ergonomically speaking and the tactile feel is subpar for the D-pad. I really liked the device overall but given how much it costs, I would say this device needs another iteration or two before they get my money.

Sold out everywhere else was able to snag this and very happy with my purchase good device to take on the go just make sure you have a good wifi connection on both ends or it wont connect but feels really good in the hands and not heavy and the screen is beautiful

I love this handheld. Some people complain about the battery life, but if you're not playing AAA games, it's not a problem. It's also not a problem if you're like me and you don't have large stretches of time to devote to gaming. If that sounds like you, save the money and buy this one instead of the ROG Ally X. The 512GB of storage is a bit small but that may not matter if you're someone who only plays one or two games at a time.

Plays great. Way, WAY more power thans Steam Deck. Battery life is poor but no worse than Deck in reality. Being able to use Game Pass, Epic, and other stores without any hoops is a great feature. All-in-all a great device especially for the money.

This is my absolute favorite new tech gaming device. I have a PS5 and have not been able to play PC games for years due to having a family. This device now allows me to play both PC titles *and console titles...and being able to do it all MOBILE? I mean, come on. This thing is a powerhouse gaming PC that I can dock to a monitor, mouse, and keyboard anytime I want to use it as a PC or to more easily download or configure it. But when it comes to gaming, hand-held all the way! I really do love this thing. Only BIG advice to any prospective owner is download the software called 'StarAllBack' to change the terrible Windows 11 interfaces back to Windows 10 styling. Besides that? This thing is 10X worth its wait in gold! As far as accessories: Yes, I do think you should purchase a larger HDD to fit more games. Get yourself a 2TB HDD. There's more and more cases as well, which I do also recommend. Also recommend getting a 'dock' so you can use it as a desktop PC or plug into your TV more easily.

I absolutely love my ROG Ally. I have ot and a steamdeck but i find myself going to my ally every singe time i go to play something at work or on the go. I carry both with me but the ally just looks and plays games so much better not to mention it does everything any other pc could do. It really is a pocket pc running on windows 11

Light, portable, good looking with a built in finger print reader and excellent screen. However, the well known Micro SD overheating issue along with my unit frequently freezing made me return mine.

I was actually surprised how well this runs games, I have played pretty straining games and it runs great. Speakers are good quality and can get loud. Doesnt get too hot while playing and the fans are quiet. Screen is very vibrant. All around great product.

Bought this as a gift. It’s great as long as you keep in mind that this is a tablet with a controller strapped to it. Runs games well but battery life is short off of charge.

This thing is great. It plays most every game real well, it feels really comfortable in your hands, I've been extremely happy with it. Biggest downside is the battery. Playing it on the max settings, you might be lucky to get 90 minutes on the battery. Much more on the lower operation modes, but be prepared to charge.

I been reading reviews with many getting flustered over setup, however this is legit the easiest setup you can ask for. The drivers, software, and information is all laid out for you and they even preinstalled Steam! You can download EPIC, Ubisoft, and EA if you so desire and start downloading and playing your games. For those looking to play retro games then check out Launchbox. The ergonomics and weight completly destroy the chunky boy that is the Steam Deck. The screen is unbelievable, I seriously cant understand how Valve got away with putting such a low quality display in the Steam Deck. Buttons are legit perfection and quiet for late night gaming. SSD is super replaceable and I put a 2TB in this!!! I feel like valve fanboys are reviewing this…

Despite the sd card issue, the device runs great and is extremely fun. Got me back into gaming. Easy to use and portable even for its size. Have a 2 yr old and gaming has been hard but this has allowed me to game with the little time available. Recommend

Very good runs most games and havent had any problems what so ever. Controls are pretty easy sometimes you need to do some key binds but other than that super simple. Battery does die pretty quick if you have all the settings turned all the way up but I just keep mine plugged in
