Ive been using this for a good week now and i gotta say I absolutely lovw this thing. Ive had no issues with it at all. Plays my games great but i havent played every game so be warned. I was on the fence about getting a SteamDeck and I saw this was announced so I thought id wait and take a risk and boy am I pleased. I already loded all my games and emulators on this guy and Im happy I went this route. Other than my nintendo switch this is my first handheld pc and I am completely satisfied. If youre like me and are new to this area you wont be disappointed with this device. Some games will need adjusting but unless you have a beast mode PC you might already be use to that. If you dont have a gaming pc already youll be learning how to adjust settings which isnt that hard but watch a youtube video or two and youll be just fine. This is my go to travel companion now and I leave my switch at home. I fly frequently across the US so I have alot of time at the airport to play. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get into the handheld arena. I havent tried a steam deck but I prefer the full windows on my device. No issues and is updated frequently.

I'm surprised at how great the ROG Ally plays games. The included 3 month game pass ultimate ensures you'll have games to play before you decide what games you'll want to spend money on. Battery life is a bit short depending on game but it charges pretty fast even while actively playing.

Amazing performance. Can play anything I throw at it. This is subjective, but I much prefer the ergonomics and buttons over the Steam Deck. Battery life sucks but it is to be expected from a device with a 40Wh battery than can reach over 40W of power usage in turbo mode. Would recommend to anyone that can actually use windows.

I enjoy the size, portability and premium feel of this handheld pc gaming device. Asus has continually been pushing updates out to improve the software experience. After returning the Legion Go due to the shoddy software, the Ally is a much better device for gaming on the go.

As handhelds go I love it. I am an over the road truck driver and i play it every day. Graphics comparable to my newer xbox, great ergonomics, nice screen. I love it. Only conplaint is the low battery life but i play it plugged in 99 percent of the time so its no big deal.

ROG ALLY; Better than the steam deck?

Personally i believe the Ally is superior to the Steam Deck in numerous ways. People that just want a gaminf console should probably grt the dexk, but people who want a portable gaming computer should defintely side with the Ally. The screen is so so much better and the better graphics processor is noticeably better as well

This thing is amazing. It is everything you need it to be. It's a portable console, laptop home entertainment system all in one. I do a lot of flying and I love that I can take it with me and use it everywhere. I know the steam deck can do a lot of the same but the Ally is a portable PC. You won't regret buying one.

This is not a handheld gaming device. This is a powerful handheld device that plays games. With Windows 11 and Office 365 cloud sync, I leave my laptop on my desk grab this and I can work then game, game then work u get the picture. I work in IT security and use both Mac and Windows along with my tools these laptops makes my bag very heavy then the power brick for the gaming laptop easily over 25lbs. I grabbed this my backpack feels like air now. If you are a bit on the Geek Squad of things. (Shameless plug lol) I have a Doc that allows full 30 honestly this can take over as a daily driver. I render a video faster on the Ally than my Mac Book Pro. Crazy!!!

The Overall Best Gaming Handheld STILL!

Gamer of 35 years here, and former gaming PC seller of 8 years. Easily one of the best handhelds out there, and I've compared them all. Depending on the model you are looking at (the X is the go to if you want the best), for the price points here you're just going to have the overall best gaming handheld you can get. Now with all the OS/BIOS updates being smoothed out, it runs like a dream and if you know how to navigate Win11, you're going to be just fine. The docking potential is amazing but in handheld mode, the 1080p 120hz is just untouchable. Speakers are incredible, it's comfy, light, and you can customize the entire control scheme and switch it on the fly.

I’ve been heavily enjoying the ally since receiving it. Playing anything I was anywhere is great! I know some people are complaining about windows but i haven’t had any problems personally. Just a tip for some, the back left button and up on the d-pad will pull up the keyboard. Back left button and down will bring up task manager.

I was always leary of getting the steam deck since at base it only interfaces with steam. Well this allows me to play everything from Steam, Game Pass and even DIABLO 4 out of the gate!! Battery life is NOT great even at 15w 1080P but i still love this thing and enjoy being able to play PC games on the go or even on my couch.

The was the best purchase I could make. I can take my gaming on the go as well as my work. The games are smooth and there are plenty of options. Windows works as well as my PC so I can literally take this anywhere.

I love it! I bought it so I could take my sims with me without having to pack up my MSI laptop or my MacBook. This thing is amazing, just like a gaming computer but with the speed of my Apple products. Best of both worlds.

I thought I'd fall in love with the ROG Ally, but it was a complicated, one-sided relationship at times. I tried to reach out, but communication just wasn't there. Difficult to understand, unwilling to negotiate, doesn't look me in the eyes anymore. But that's okay, because now I'm setting my sights on other handhelds, and the Ally will see what it's missing. A handheld that understands me and meets me at my level of intellect (it was honestly just too complicated for me)

The title says it all. If youre looking to play PC games on the go, than this is what you want. It can do everything the steam deck does and more. Battery life is kind of meh, but its a litteral laptop that lets you play PC games like its a switch.

The performance doesn't disappoint.Powered by a robust set of internals, games run smoothly with impressive graphics, demonstrating that ASUS didn't compromise power for portability. The display offers vivid colors and sharp details, ensuring that every in-game moment is captured with clarity.

excellent performance in all the games that I have tried from the steam store, gamepass and epic, both in portable mode and connected to a dock, the battery lasts about an hour but charges in half that time, the joysticks are not good for shooters but being a pc with windows 11 it has compatibility with xbox controllers

Love the Rog ally performance is sweet, dislike the minor bugs that affects the sd card to none usable and the bios update 3.19 is still bugged performance suffers. Stay with the bios 3.17. Better performance. ASUS is still supporting software updates.

For a $400 open box, can’t complain too much. The only downside is battery. Only can last for about an hour on battery.
