It's a very good product it just had a few minor inconveniences. One being having to configure the controller scheme on every single game, you really have to fine tune it and mess with alot of buttons just for one game so when you go to another you have to configure it all again. It does save two profiles, gamepad and desktop but it seems like you can't even switch between each or it's really finicky. But besides that it has it's **** near as powerful as my desktop w/ DL speeds of almost 1g a second so very good there and the screen looks amazing. Also the joysticks and buttons feel great and are nice to use it's only the configuring I have a problem with.

recently purchased the ROG Ally from Best Buy, attracted by its sleek design and promising features. However, my experience with this controller left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the ROG Ally boasts impressive build quality and ergonomic design, making it comfortable to hold during long gaming sessions. The buttons are responsive, and the overall feel is premium. Unfortunately, my enjoyment was marred by a persistent issue with the right analogue stick. Despite initial smooth operation, I found that it would intermittently drift, causing frustrating moments during gameplay. This problem persisted despite multiple attempts to recalibrate the controller. While the ROG Ally has the potential to be a top-tier gaming accessory, its reliability falls short of expectations. For now, I've returned it to Best Buy and will be exploring other options. Overall, the ROG Ally offers a blend of quality construction and functionality, but its inconsistency in performance, particularly with the drifting analogue stick, leaves much to be desired. Proceed with caution if considering this controller for your gaming setup.

This device will allow you to game anywhere. It is able to go from being a powerhouse handheld to a desktop (with the eGPU) teir performance. Try it out.

I will lead with my final appraisal of this device while it was working as that feels more fair than just the bad end result of my purchase. After several hours uninstalling, updating, tweeking, learning, and then finally gaming I loved the Ally. I pulled down a consistent 90+ fps in Diablo 4 with some of the settings maxed but most low or off. No heat issues, no lag, no stutter. Ran well and is more than acceptable for a portable PC gaming experience. Marauders would always crash after a few seconds in the menus, Rocket League played well with no issues, Hell Let Loose seemed serviceable and looked fine to me with no crazy FPS dips or tearing. All in all the devoce is more than a solid portable gmaing option. At the price point and with the AMD eGPU total cost gets up to a gaming laptops. Whether a laptop is a better fit for you than this device is up to you? I wouod say that if the Ally has an inch or 2 more of screen real-estate I'd be in love. Heck its probaly not too hard to get a 3D printed mount for a ln iPad or tablet to sit ontop of the Ally and still hold the controller part behind it to game on a nicer bigger screen? Idk. Gotta return mine unfortunately. 1st impression was that I was returning the Ally because it didnt meet my expectations off the rip. Fast forward about 8 hours of hands on playing and tweeking while connected to the supplied power source in a 65° AC with the onboard fans wide open. I get an error message while playing Diablo at 1080p that says I "ran out of memory." It forces a restart and thwn my device simply never powers back on. No leds when plugged in or docked, non when not. No button combination forces a reboot or anything. Just a brick now. There are non in stock within an hour+ of me and the Best Buy I shop at is already 45 minutes away. Also the storage is lacking. The SD slot did work with no issues for me but is an outdated medium if you ask me.

Works like a charm, but needs additional battery bank that is not hard to find, because battery holds for about 1 hour of continues play. Small and powerful, perfect idea for travel.

easily best investmant I've made. It goes everywhere with me. Yes, the battery life could be better and the screen a little larger but it's been ideal.

I picked up the ROG Ally a few weeks ago and overall I’m really happy with it, especially if you want real PC gaming on the go, I like that i can take it anywhere and play on the go

I went in thinking that this thing is going to stink. But I realize that its not that bad at all. I was terrified that my sd card reader was going die, never did. It plays all my games with great performance. I took one star away because of all the sd readers that died. But fingers crossed that mine doesn't die. My best advice is if you know nothing about windows dont buy it but if you had a laptop in the past you will feel quite at home with this one.

I've been gaming since I was four and a half years old I'm now 40 and I would say that this is probably one of the coolest most powerful consoles that's in your hands that I've ever had. Some reviews will knock it but they are extremely hard this console kicks rear and is extremely powerful and if you can somehow afford the XG mobile you will have some god tier gaming performance that you can bring over to a party and play your favorite games

In my opinion it's better than steam deck. Because in asus I can play the Xbox games. And the screens are a little bigger and the only bad thing is that the battery runs out very quickly.

This product works well and is amazing for those traveling. If you have more demanding games, it does sadly need to be plugged in.

Awesome gaming machine graphics are great looks good on tv too only issue is battery dies very fast.

Blown away of how well this runs. It has to be on medium setting for most games but re4 and 2 remake are very good on medium. Elden ring and dark souls 3 run very well on medium settings. Also the dead space remake is very well ran on medium settings. Havent had good luck with call of duty but the severs in that game are really bad even for my pc most of the time. Been having lots of fun witb it definitely recommend goving it a try for that on the toilet, in the bed, or front porch gaming experience

This handle Pc is amazing I’m enjoying playing lots of my AAA game titles that I loved on the ps5 and Xbox man does this thing does its job well with those games I was impressed with what it had to offer and I really had to buy this device and see for my self and it delivered 10/10 for me

Great device. FIFA 23 works perfectly at 900p. Battery life is bad. Barely lasts 1hr15min playing FIFA.

Sure, there's some updates and setup needed out of the box (it is a PC, so that was expected), but that all went rather smoothly. It feels good in the hands, control layout is great, and the screen is just amazing. I installed a new 2tb ssd upgrade. This was also very easy to do. Asus has how-to videos online, just make sure to update everything thru the MyAsus app first. Then you can use the automated cloud recovery to reinstall everything. I also own a Steam Deck but this will be my new go-to when I wanna do some handheld gaming.
