Some minor quirks but plenty of updates has solved alot of them, know what your getting. With some adjustments in settings you can play any game and a nice dock you have a powerful desktop. oh DONT COUNT ON A WORKING SD SLOT. Im one of the ones that dropped in a 4tb nvme card so no need but mine was one that sometimes it work, others it didnt.

I love this thing! Some of the most fun I've had in one device in a long time, if not ever! From Fortnite and Palworld, to emulation and classic PC games, this does it all. In my hands, or on my TV, the games and good times just keep coming! Asus has done an amazing job at making it easy to change all necessary settings on the fly - the buit in UI is effortless and fluent. I cannot recommend the Rog Ally Z1 Extreme enough!

Great device. I use it more than my PC now. Its not a 5 star because of the battery.

In my eyes this is the best handheld computer gaming system. It's got your gamer RGB lights. Easy to set up, easy to upgrade and work on if needed. The screen resolution is amazing it feels like the perfect size I wasn't all that happy with the steam deck size this feels better in my hands. The one downfall I've been reading about these is that the SD card reader burns out so if you need to upgrade storage it has to be INTERNAL besides that. Amazing product definitely recommend

Honesty i had my doubts about how this was gonna run games but i put on MW2 on its suggested settings which granted werent the highest settings but none the less it was running at around 85 FPS which is no small feet seeing how some desktops cant do that, honestly im happy with my purchase and i will be buying another one for the wife.

I LOVE this device. Performance is great. OS is snappy. Cooling is very good. Temps do get high ~95 under full load, but this pulls down almost immediately once full load is no longer. COD MW2 - 720p Low. 85-100fps. Battlefield V sees around 75-80 fps on low 720p. I sold gaming laptop in favor of a gaming desktop but still wanted something portable. This fit the bill and then some. Was an even better value as open box on top of the current sale price.

Order arrived on time as it was advertised. Despite some issues other experiencing, mine worked so far great no issue with SD card or overheating . I own steamdeck, ayaneo2 and ayaneo air pro but ally by far is the best and i am very happy with my purchase. If you are willing to change setting to get what you are hoping for this is a great handheld for you but if you are expecting to play right out of the box then this is not for you. Powerful machine and play games that my other handheld struggle with. Very happy with the purchase.

Great device required wifi which limits how mobile it is but hopefully wihtba hotspot it’s better. People complain that it’s hard to use it is a little more complicated but it’s a device that put together video games a computer and makes them mobile the battery could last more but I’m sure it happens like this cuz my gaming laptop runs out of battery constantly so this is probably the best it’s gonna get for a mobile device and considering the size.

Absolutely love it. I can take it on the go. Or dock it and display on my 27 inch. Play all my games and handles more games than I expected.

Got this to compare to my Steam Deck. Immediately upgraded the storage to a 4tb M.2, and i havent touched the Deck since. I made the Deck a dual boot machine with Windows as well, and this thing handles Windows so much smoother. Completely recommed if youre on the fence, make the purchase. Ordered this little beast online. As always, Best Buy had it here the next day, so overall very happy from start to finish.

Great impulse buy for me. Use it all the time and aside from the battery life, this is a solid machine for all types of gaming.

Solid upgrade performance wise from the steam deck. Play at 720p, upscale to 1080p and it runs mostly everything with medium or higher settings /30fps. Vrr low cap can also be changed easily from 45fps to 30fps. Battery life isnt great, as to be expected 1hr 25w. Display is excellent, controls feel very nice, and the machine is about as lousd as a gaming laptop under medium load.

My ASUS ROG Ally is great. I like how I can play most of my games on Steam and Xbox Game Pass. There are some minor quality of life interface that would've been great, like navigating through the desktop. Otherwise, I love it. I have an Xbox Series X as well but i haven't had much play time with thar since getting this device. I'd say if you’re not exclusively getting your games through Steam, this is the handheld device for you.

If you need this, then get it. Otherwise, don't spend your money. Yeah, it is great but the battery life drains pretty fast. I will be gaming for an hour and the battery is at 50 percent already. Honestly, if you have a PC already and you are not on the road too often, then stick with Phone/Mobile gaming because this is not worth it unless you have to try something new that plays PC games, then go ahead because the best thing about it is that you can play games on here natively than playing gaming via stream so you can the best performance but you might have to lower the quality since it does not have the best hardware to play at ULTRA settings. Overall, I love the style of this but the battery life goes down quickly over an hour. Good audio. Okay controls if you are able to grip the side when playing FPS games. Download PC games (Xbox Pass, Steam, EPIC, etc.). I love the idea for this but the battery drainage and less usage for this device are the downside for me since I game a lot on my PS5 and PC...and also less traveling.

Unbelievable the catalogue of games this can play. Instead of lugging around an antire laptop i can just bring this around with me.

Worth every penny in my opinion but the “sleep” feature sometimes freezes my game and I get reverted to my last save. Which can be a lot or not that much so it can be inconvient. As far as battery life, its okay, best I can put it, like it drains depending in what you are doing about a percent a minute and it’s dissappointing but I never have 100 minutes to play everyday and I play for 15 min-30 min increments and thats where the processor really shines because boot times are less than a minute I love that, but 600$ is a lot of money at the end of the day and the question being is it worth it is honestly up to you the buyer to decide because it’s use for various settings and I personally use it for work and at night sessions when the mrs is asleep so its good for me but it has its pros and cons.

This is a reasonable product for the cost to be used as an alternate entertainment option.

I got this with the steamdeck . It totally 2 different machines, steam perfect for daily gaming like grab&go but some of the games can’t play on steam (ex Forza5, cyberpunk lacking alots , GoW running really bad during graphic…) . Ally is different animals can be played them all cause base on pc running both versions steam and xboxpass. They both still amazing machines for me .

The ROG Ally is Beast of a gaming machine, I honestly read the reviews and expected it to be buggy, but that was not the case. I just ran the Armory Crate and Asus updater and it has run my games flawlessly. Battery life is a bit low (2hrs) heavy gaming, but the performance of the Ally more than makes up for it. Definitely my favorite gaming device and would highly recommend!
