This has gotten much better since release. The updates helped with performance and now it turns on and you can just play. Runs games very well and medium settings. I'm very impressed with the hardware and screen. I wish it had quick resume like the Steam Deck. Hopefully it'll be added in a future update.

Good product, setup was challenging but once it’s set it plays well

I haven’t tried it with a micro SD so I can’t say if it’s true that they are damaged by the rog ally, but the the controller feels really comfortable (I thought it wouldn’t be by the looks) And the power is really good in general. The only ugly thing I haven’t liked so far (beside some software bugs) is the battery, it drains very fast. You will have around 1 hour of playing in mid - high games.

Overall a nice device. Lower rating is due to the fact that windows on a handheld is really not fun. It’s not designed for a handheld touchscreen. Build quality is solid. Fan noise is ok on 15-18w but at 25w gets a bit loud. Screen is fantastic. Performance is great at 30w plugged in.

Very good handheld device. Excellent for long ride car, Especially Vacation, Recommend buying for your kids or yourself. Long battery good Fps for games. The Storage is alright, But 500 Gb is good.

In great condition works like new and awesome handheld love being able to play games away from my pc!

This thing is powerful and a joy. Only bummer is battery life but well worth the trade off for power.

Great piece of tech, few bugs out of the box, but a few updates later, it runs great

Love the thought process overall of the device, and well executed. The only issue is the battery life. I am still using it for both work and entertainment, regardless of me having to charge it if i play “Cyberpunk 2077” or “Baldur’s Gate 3”. Good battery life if you are playing older gen games like “Persona 5” or “Final Fantasy XV”.

Very fun and perfect to PC games on the go! Had my eye on this for awhile and finally got one. Not disappointed.

I imagined this product 15 years ago when Xbox 360 was out. I wanted it to be a reality so bad. When the switch came out it was the closest thing to it, but this blows the switch out of the water. I have 2 young kids so finding time to sit down in front of a tv or computer to play games is nearly impossible. Now I play this thing all over the place at the house, at work, or if I go out for lunch. I haven’t been able to game in years and I love this!

Great handheld, very easy to use and great power for some games

Product works great with most games. New buyers should understand that this is not an ultra pc or gaming laptop. It runs most games effectively however some games require and external mouse and keyboard. The games with higher graphics also will probably on get about 20-30 FPS on this device. However this system is everything I was looking for in terms of the games I play on it.

This is an amazing product, however, the major issue at the moment is the micro SD card reader. ASUS has acknowledged this issue, but unfortunately my first rog ally’s micro SD card reader stopped working after about 11 days. I’m hopefully that it’s more of a firmware issue so I have ordered a replacement. Other than that, it is an excellent gaming device if you have a bit of technical expertise.

Like the title says, not bad for an open box special. The only main concerns that I have is that: 1. It seems to go a bit slow every now and then 2. The SD card doesn't always read, but reads fine in my laptop. Leading me to believe that it is a problem with the Ally, not the SD card Other than those two problems, my daughter and I love it

After owning and playing it for a week i have decided its the perfect power for the price it blows the steam deck away by 5x.

I really wanted to like the rog Ally. I've had it for just over two weeks, luckily I'm still eligible for a return, so I'm going to pursue that return. Hour plus setup process to begin okay I was okay with that it's just a Windows computer... But in the proceeding weeks of using it I've had crashes, I've had my micro SD card be destroyed by it. The card literally is dead will not be read in any other computer. There's the firmware issues, the horrible battery life even on 10 watts I found on some lower powered games I still get maybe an hour at most I can literally watch it count down almost with the seconds. I really wanted to like this as I said but I feel like it's a beta that got released to the public possibly even an alpha product. I like Asus I have an Asus gaming laptop and it works great. But unfortunately the April 1st announcement date of this almost feels like it's fulfilling itself.

Pc games on the go as long as their is a power outlet close because you only get about a hpur of play time unplugged. Which i better then i expected

It is what it says. The battery life is the worst thing about this. other than that it ran Fortnite, apex, and rainbow very well with fps. a good nightstand to watch Netflix or YouTube. not portable though due to battery life. the joystick trigger dead zone are terrible as well.

Definitely a gaming beast......if you know what you're doing. This is not a out of the box plug and play device. It requires a hefty initial set up. After that tinkering and getting games to run how you want will still require tweaking and testing. If you're familiar with windows and such you will have a blast if you have patience. I love this device, I'm sure Asus will hash out whatever issues arise/exist.
