I really wanted to like the rog Ally. I've had it for just over two weeks, luckily I'm still eligible for a return, so I'm going to pursue that return. Hour plus setup process to begin okay I was okay with that it's just a Windows computer... But in the proceeding weeks of using it I've had crashes, I've had my micro SD card be destroyed by it. The card literally is dead will not be read in any other computer. There's the firmware issues, the horrible battery life even on 10 watts I found on some lower powered games I still get maybe an hour at most I can literally watch it count down almost with the seconds. I really wanted to like this as I said but I feel like it's a beta that got released to the public possibly even an alpha product. I like Asus I have an Asus gaming laptop and it works great. But unfortunately the April 1st announcement date of this almost feels like it's fulfilling itself.

This device is a great gaming system. It comes with a full copy of windows so it can also be a great tool for productivity. Pair the device with bluetooth keyboard and mouse and grab a portable display and you have a workstation on the go! Have spent many hours travelling with this setup and it literally has lead me to invest in a desktop for home and remove laptops altogether.

This product is amazing: simply the best gaming handshild available today. Others has bigger and havier screens and not as polish as this device is. Windows 11 is an advantage specialy for productivity you have a portable desktop computer you can take and do everything you can do on a desktop. The best of all bestbuy open box item already on sale under 500 dollars. It only gets better.

The portabke computer aspect is fantastic but imthe initsl start of having to uodate drivers and systems was a bit off putting. Having to soend time watching videos to get the right drivers after the initial install was a slight oain but not too bad. The main “flaw” is just the batteryblife, after about over an hour of game play the system is out of battery life.

Definitely a gaming beast......if you know what you're doing. This is not a out of the box plug and play device. It requires a hefty initial set up. After that tinkering and getting games to run how you want will still require tweaking and testing. If you're familiar with windows and such you will have a blast if you have patience. I love this device, I'm sure Asus will hash out whatever issues arise/exist.

I love my ROG Ally. After owning the steam deck, I was really itching for that experience but with a handheld that had a bit more power to it. Besides the minor tweaks to get the Ally where you want I have no complaints to this point with this device. Although after only a short time my SD card slot did not work like most other reviewers are saying. I am able to upgrade the storage but feel like the SD card is where the Ally failed.

It is definitely a powerful portable, and can run AAA games pretty well on medium settings. Screen looks great, but the controls are subpar compared to a steam deck. The overlay for choosing games is also an afterthought at best, as you get kicked out into normal windows A LOT, so you never forget thisnis a windows machine.

This has been a great device. It’s my favorite for retro handheld gaming. I also have played Hogwarts Legacy on it and it plays very well. For the more powerful games it is better to play plugged in to get the most power out it. They still play well in the battery as well. You won’t be disappointed with the Ally

Loved everything about it besides the battery life lacking for duration.(Not really a problem for me because I have external battery or its always on a power source) Added items so far Screen protector Dock (steamdeck) keyboard and mouse

So far this windows device has been pretty good, have not had any issues out of it so far. Excepted a bit of freezing here and there, the frame rate is pretty soild also the system is very responsive which is great, I also like the different modes you can choose from which are desktop, consoles mode and touch so far i am impressed the product. One last thing is the system’s heats up the screen whixh makes it very hot, it can be a bit noisy at rime just the fans.

Really fun. I enjoyed this a lot. It makes gaming on a pc as simple as a console

Gave this for my son birthday. Very handful can bring everywhere. Very clear sound and picture.

This device is actually better than my MSI Claw. This device does not heat up. I use my sd card and had no problem with it. I had this device for at least a month now. The whole device does not over heat. Only the charger adapter heats up when the device is 50 percent. It is super fast charging for me. Battery life is good for at least 2 hours. Msi claw i own battery life sucks is probably from amazon i got it from the seller. I would recommend rog ally z1 extreme to people that has low budget. My advice is wait till they have a sale for 400 dollars it is worth buying

This thing is fantastic, plays all my AAA games in low-med settings at 45+ even 60+ fps depending on the game. It is quite a bit more involved than other "consoles" but if you have a bit of windows knowledge it's very easy to setup and use. Definitely consider upgrading to 1TB SSD.

Overall it's been great for what it can do, but there's a big learning curve and a bit buggy. Docked mode is probably where I see most issues. It's only been out for a little over a month, so I see it getting better. Steam Deck was the same way in the beginning. Do I regret the purchase? Not at all. If anyone wants to get into an entry level windows machine, this is a good starting point.

10/10. This thing does everything i wanted out of it. I can play Fortnite 120FPS easily and it looks beautiful doing it! I thought i would only be using Turbo Mode all the time plugged in but was so surprised to find that i can play in Performance Mode! Doing so gives the Ally about 2 hours and 20min of Fortnite gameplay which is amazing. Same goes for Overwatch. I play using my bluetooth Xbox Controller and latency is amazing as expected. Very very happy with my purchase and in love with the Ally!!

Great device amazing just had battery life but if can you live with that
