Portable and great handheld. Just held back by small storage for gaming. Everyone know 512GB not gonna cut it.

The good: Build quality is solid, decent screen, gets bright. Great speakers. The ASUS tools make it easy to customize settings. The Bad: modern games struggle to squeak out 30 FPS on low settings even on max power mode and plugged in. For me this was a deal breaker as its a gaming console /PC. I get its handheld, and its not going to rival a laptop but for the price, spend an extra hundred bucks and get a 4050 or 4060 laptop. You get DLSS plus frame gen, larger screen and keyboard and touchpad. As far as handhelds go its great. Unless you want to game on it. I guess if your desperate and dont want to lug around a loptop you can get your gaming fix in on the go but it was just too rough form me and not enjoyable wirh the stuttering and frame deops. Also-No extra USB ports to plug in accesories. I would have liked to see a desicated chaeging port and at least one free USB C port since it is a windows PC

Only issue is heat control gets way too hot quick. Definitely upgrade fans first thing

The only set backs are the battery life and storage. Other than that I’m pleased with my purchase.

Do not get without a larger m.2 SSD. The card reader is still faulty and will require an RMA to replace. That said, it is the most powerful hand held on the market and is an exceptional piece of equipment when it runs. Cloud Recovery is also really bad.

I'm very happy with my experience with this. I did have the issue with the SD card reader failing, but Asus was very easy to work with to have that repaired at no cost to me (I repurposed amazon packing materials to ship it in). One gripe is the battery life is not the best. Maybe 2 hours of play even at 15w setting, but a great experience nonetheless.

I love this device so much, I play it all day! Easily to take places, and nice display!

I like it so far. Took some getting used to, but the more I use it the more comfortable i am with it. Plays everything i have thrown at it so far as well.

I really enjoy the Rog Ally but it took me a while to get used to it. The Ally is not like the switch where you play right out of the box. I am also new to pc gaming being a console gamer mostly. The devise has preloaded user videos and they are videos on you tube to help. I like that it plays from game pass and steam. Eventually I want to learn emulation. The ally is powerful and a lot of enjoyment

It's such a great device! Took it on a flight and was able to play my games with no issues!

I love my ROG Ally. I also own the SteamDeck, Nintendo Switch, and Legion GO, but I find the ROG Ally to be my favorite and go to device for playing games on the go or even when relaxing in bed. Because it runs Windows, everything runs on it. It handles AAA titles such as Hogwart's Legacy and Diablo IV just fine.

Amazing portable handheld gaming pc. Compared to the Steam Deck, this is an excellent alternative that runs any game.

Word of advice for anyone who purchases one of these spend at least an hour researching and downloading the latest updates and firmware other than that as long as you're accepting of the battery being pretty crappy in terms of life, it's actually pretty awesome

I love this product. It's a good product. But I love the steam deck even more but still overall its good product even if you're looking for a handheld

This will run any game you want it to, great value for such little money

My feelings are complicated. On the one hand, graphically it is FAR superior to the steam deck. I had a GTX 1080 on my pc and 12 gigs of RAM, and the steam deck ran better for some games, worse for several. The Ally, especially plugged in, blows both out of the water HOWEVER Set up can be a pain. Switcing apps can be a nightmare It's essentially a laptop with no keyboard, and the onscreen keyboard can be a battle. It restarted or had to be restarted a dozen times when i was setting it up it seems to have forgotten the SD card was there, as others have said it really, REALLY wants me to put powerpoint and excel on the device, since its basically a laptop like i said constantly, pop up windows- especially when buying something on steam- seem to confuse both the touch screen and the "mouse", and i am constantly selecting the window under it basically i buy games from the steam website on my phone, then download via the ally its great for portable plays, looks good on my TV, but it really needs a better interface that stops bombarding me with PowerPoint and MS Word notifications when i am trying to play a game

OMG! I love this machine. There is a ton of initial setup especially with updates. So far, I've been using as my PC Game Pass machine which also comes with EA Play. So amazing to just pick games and play without thinking about buying (even though I still can). The first game I played was Battletoads as I wanted something lighthearted and designed for sticks. I've got Gundam, Forza Horizon 5, Doom Eternal and some others loaded up (man, even 500GB doesn't seem so big anymore).

I got this in July 2023 and it's been awesome. I got it for work travel since my laptop was huge and bulky. It's been everything I wanted and needed. Although I would recommend an external battery, I've loved being able to play games on airplanes and hooking it up to a TV in a hotel room with the external dock has been great. It's definitely my favorite travel companion would recommend 10/10

Absolutely love my Ally. The ability to play games, and stream via cloud on the go is perfect. Then add having the full abilities of a laptop as well!! Highly recommend the ally.
