This thing is a powerful little machine. But setting it up was a hassle. And the controllers have an input delay that make it hard to play shooters. Pretty disappointed with this thing tbh. But i feel like after a couple more software updates it could be great.

Kinda complicated, nice screen but performance is okish but the main problem ROG finally got to see is the heat + microsd problem, tweak the fan speed and keep the fan on with the ally or you might get a bad sd later and get a dead sd reader. Careful....

Great handheld, runs AAA titles and idies just fine! Its only held back by battery life

Plays all my AAA tittles. It’s well built seems like it’s going to last.

I love the screen on this and the way the device feels ans looks. However this is not a plug and play device, you must run updates, tweak settings for people who are not used to PC gaming and troubleshooting it may be a learning curve or a complete turn off. However once you dial things just right, the device is amazing.

I has a Steamdeck for about a year. Almost never used it sue to the quality of gameplay and the limited selection of games because of Steam OS. Sold the steam deck and got “Roggy”. Couldnt be happier with this handheld. Im able to play most AAA games with decent frames and any indie game is getting 120 frames lokking pristine! If houre considering getting a ROG Ally, stop thinking about it and do it.

Who needs a gaming PC when you have this bad boy. I get more wins in Fortnite on this than I do with my PC.

Picked one up back in September of last year. Sold my PS5 to get it. Honestly I love it. It’s more powerful than the steamdeck, but remember you have to adjust some game settings to get the best performance. I played starfield on it without an issue. Spent 10 hrs playing starfield on PC but 30-40hrs playing it on this

Excellent system, perfect middle ground handheld along the Asus lineup. Competitive as a handheld and is capable for my use case practically as a great hardware mobile computer with Windows/Virtualization.

I have a high end PC but having a portable option that can play 80% of my steam library is unbeatable. The learning curve on how to optimize this for regular play can be a little unsettling. But once you learn how to adjust games graphics settings this becomes your regular gaming device.

I love the ROG Ally! It runs all of my games well and is a solid portable windows PC.

Worked great for about a month but then I started running into issues. My SD card reader died. Wouldn't detect any cards I tried. Exchanged it at BB and hoped that was just a one time thing. My second one had issues with the fingerprint reader and would blue screen. I wiped the OS and started from scratch and things worked better. Unfortunately, the SD card reader died on my second Ally. BB offered to exchange it but I decided to return it instead. It's a pretty good attempt for a rev 1 product but it has flaws. I also don't like that the eGPU option they provide uses a proprietary connection. I ended up getting another windows handheld with an oculink port and used a GPU I had from a previous build. I hope Asus stick with the product and release another one in a year or so with non-proprietary connections and more RAM (16 is not enough, my new handheld has 64).

So much potential. But the storage is tiny, navigating windows on an 8 inch screen is miserable, and the thing gets very hot. Wanted to love it but it’s not quite fully realized. I wasn’t willing to deal with the headaches.

This thing is Awesome best thing to pair with Xbox game pass.. u can cloud game or install.. i paired it with a docking system that allowed Turbo mode.. also u can use a program to play PS5 remote play but you have to do a few things to get it to work but ots flawless.. this is best way to go for gaming

It’s really nice and all but like come on now if you wanna get a pc get a pc not a switch/ PC although it’s amazing graphics and all but the accessories are added up to like $2,000 but if you are traveling all the time sure perfect item best invested

Game changer for handhelds for sure….yes it’s got windows 11 but haven’t found many issues (uninstall OneDrive immediately!) I love having all games/launchers in one place. The Ally is powerful had to get used to the ergonomics compared to the Deck but now that I have I’m having a blast with it. If you don’t wanna spend 1000+ for a powerful windows handheld that’s still very impressive just get the Ally.

Pretty great device for those who would like to start in the handheld gaming space. Easy to open up to swap the SSD and the new Xbox overlay works perfectly. Good deal for refurbished product.
