I have both an ROG Ally and a Steam Deck. I’ve noticed ROG has better visuals for the most part. I play Starfield with no issue. I haven’t found an easier way to download updates - I had to visit ASUS website to take full advantage of the device versus Steam Deck which is more streamlined.

After having a steam deck i think this was quite the upgrade. Better display and more processing power for sure. A little sleeker as well. Comes with the quirks of a windows pc but that was expected. The deck was like a console but not powerful enough. Streamlined but not ready for as much heavy lifting.

Hardware is awesome. There is an Ally X but i find the hardware pretty good. The biggest negative is Windows 11. ASUS's app is great at trying to hide the underlying OS but it is hampered by how messy gaming is implemented by game providers under Windows. Terrible for a portable console as the experience is far from seemless. I have seen people convert this to a SteamOS Linux machine and have been happy. I may try that.

Great performance but chose some other console for my gaming.

Really like the ASUS ROG ALLY but ( big but) I was not able to completely use it and see how really behaves. I work 40 hrs per week and gaming is one of my hobbies, I have the Steam Deck and has been very good and I was very interested on the ALLY to see the differences between the two handhelds. The easy interface and easy to use trophy goes to the Steam Deck but the versatility of the ALLY makes it very tempting. However, I was able just to play a couple of games on the ALLY and due work and family the TWO WEEKS that Best Buy gives you to return items made my choice clear: not enough time to spend with the ALLY made me weary of its use and rather stick with the SD. However, if you don't have the SD, just pick the ally, is very good. I am afraid that the return policies that BB has ( if you are not taking the paywall to return items in 30 days) is going to put pressure on the buyers to get an item that unfortunately needs more than 14 days to make a decision. Sucks for ROG because I really like their products and the laptop that I am still using is a ROG.

The best portable pc!, I can play every game I want!!!

Loving every second. This device is a beast. Elden Ring, Horizon Zero Dawn, Gears of War. Everything runs and looks so great on this. Ive been recommending this device to my streaming community ever since i got it

This is a great PC Handheld! Plays most of my library with ease, and has a lot of customizable options to work and tinker your games to what you want. Keep expectations in check though: This thing has a 120Hz refresh rate, but not every game will run at 120Hz max settings. It's a portable after all, don't expect monster level PC levels of performance here.

Extremely slow to load. Literally hours with Stanfield. Storage is VERY limited and expanding it is almost as much ss the unit itself. Runs Very Hot too if sitting in lap. Returned. Good idea. Not readt yet.

Essential for gaming on the go. While Windows can’t hold a candle to Steam OS when it comes to handhelds, what it lacks in usability and features it makes up for in compatibility. With Windows you can essentially run anything. The Ally has the horsepower to push past Windows deficits and makes for a great little gaming machine.

This device is great and i really love it. But i do wish the battery could last a little longer. You get about a hour and a half of battery life before your desperatley needing to rush and plug it in. You can play with it plugged in but its not very convient when your traveling. Overall great product.

Portability, features, ease of use. Good performance despite small size.

Product is great for someone who knowe about computers and how to tune their settings. It would be a 5 stars if it had better battery life

this is such a cute handheld gaming computer! i specifically bought this so that i could download an emulator and play all of my old gamecube games i no longer have. i definitely think its an investment that will keep me busy for a while

I like it, I had to buy a backup battery. The device only lasts 1 1/2 hours.. they made a new one and I bought this one full priced.. 2 months later it dropped on price 150 dollars and now I want the new one

THEY ACTUALLY DID IT! Does it give you 4k 60 FPS Untra settings on every game? No! Does it give you 1080p great framerates and good-great settings? ABSOLUTELY! THIS THING ROCKS!! I plopped in a 2TB m.2 NVME drive and have every game i could want on it! SERIOUSLY, this thing is awesome!! Buy it, you will not be dissapointed!!!!

Love the mobility and can run any game with good frames. 10/10 recommends

Upgraded from g cloud - thing is great. Powerful, feels good in hands. Easy to use if you know windows. Cons- battery life is pretty bad
