The ROG Ally is an awesome device that can play literally everything. The biggest advantage it has over the Steam Deck is that it runs Windows and isn’t limited by its software. Yes, you can put Windows on the Steam Deck with some tinkering, but it functions much better on the ROG Ally. Now, there is a steeper learning curve with this device and it isn’t as user friendly as the Steam Deck, but don’t let that scare you away, there are tons of tutorials on YouTube where people walk you through how to set the best settings for each game. Also, I highly recommend using a manual profile with a more aggressive fan curve rather than the stock Turbo mode. The stock Turbo mode at 30w doesn’t efficiently cool the device with its fan curve and can cause the device to overheat. Once you tinker with the fan curve and lock all clocks for the device at 30w, you won’t have any issues.

I feel like it’s the best handheld in a long time. I play all my games all the time.

I recently bought the Ally, for my other half due to surgery. Ive come to enjoy some of my favorite games on the go, and she has come to enjoy the easier access to her games as well. It being able to plug in to a tv and run like a pc is a plus for recovery time.

Amazing quality as expected of Asus. So good, in fact, that I ended up having it stolen within 2 days and haven't seen it since. Hope that person is having fun haha.

Plays all the top AAA games in medium or low settings. Display looks great VRR is a must. Awesome sound. Haven't had an issue with the SD card but have seen alot of people stating they had issues with it. Really a great handheld.

This is an awesome and powerful device! This thing can run games i could never had imagined playing on the go. I gotta say i am very impressed. Although it does have some kinks it still needs to fix but overall i highly recomend it. I get to play all my games on my bed instead of having to go upstairs and play on my desk.

I absolutely love my rog ally, i obviously use it for gaming but the thing i love most on it is i use it to connect to all of my 3d printers remotely and monitor prints from anywhere. I even bought a dock for it and plugged it into my 49 inch ultrawide and it actually runs games pretty smoothly. Very happy

Picked mine up on launch day, ran updates before doing anything else with it and no issues. This thing has saved my marriage. I can now play games on the couch while my wife works on her laptop and we have trash tv running. Dont ask me why we need to see love island or below deck on the 65” tv vs an ipad. It’s her world I’m just living in it.

The ROG Ally is phenomenal and beats the steam deck in every way. I didn't expect this little guy to be able to do as much as it does, for example like dualboxing an MMO while on break at work, or playing Assassins Creed Valhalla with smooth framerates. Absolutely love my Ally 10/10 purchase.

Its a great handheld it had its problems but its steadily getting improvements from bios updates.. im able to play forza 5 on dock on 60 fps with the graphics settings on high capable of doing 120fps im still tinkering with the setting and so far in my opinion its just as good as the xbox series s

I think we can all agree, is an expensive toy, but you need to understand what you get: gaming laptop-like performance on a windows based tablet, with joy pad controls. I peraonally ise this instead of my gaming laptop to do anything from playing off course, to get on the banks or brouse on the web, no ossues

Best handheld that exists. its extremely fun to play and havent had any serious issues so far. outside of overheating (fixable) and having to exhange for left stick not working, its great. it acts as a regular windows pc so you can do anything you would on a pc

Absolutely outstanding piece of hardware. A lot of people are returning these but from what ive gathered on fourms and pages a lot of it is user error. This is just a mini pc and you need to think of it as such. It needs its updates and has the normal windows 11 stuff but once its up and running it is a beast at playing games on the go.

Great specs! Nice grip with my size of hands but it’s windows and windows is the biggest problem. There ar eso me design flaws as well. Hate that I can’t setup offline. The SD Card slow gets super hot. And recently with an update from 7/12/23 my sd card had issues. It would slow down my console down so badly because the SD HDD usage was at 100%. Reformatted the SD card twice and even empty it showed 100% usage under HDD. Factory rest didn’t help. I ended up powering on my console without the sd card and opened up disk management once I inserted the sd card it showed up immediately and I was able to do another format. It worked ! But the hassle was such a pain. I’m just glad it didn’t fry my sd card like other people

Have had it for many months now. It is perfect for couch gaming and docked PC play. Handles AAA games at medium settings effortlessly. For its size, it is mighty.

Much better than I expected! Runs my favorite games (Doom Eternal and CyberPunk) at excellent speeds and quality. It beats out my deskop. Although it's not a dedicated gaming unit like streamdeck and it does require installing and setup like any PC. But it runs Windows 11 out of the box that makes it very useful as a laptop.

I love this. The Xbox app works great for streaming games, running full pc games works great. Games like MW2, Diablo 4, and Fortnite run great on this. I upgraded to a 2TB 2230 right away for more storage. Keep in mind this runs full Windows so you'll have a ton of updates out of the box before you can game. But after the sky is the limit.

I’ll keep this short: the ROG Ally has rendered my Steam Deck and Switch OLED redundant. This is the perfect companion to my gaming PC and Xbox Series X. Couple this with Steam and Game Pass and there’s really nothing you can’t play on the go. Performance exceeds my expectations. Love it.
